13.01.2022 $84bn CONTRIBUTION TO AUSTRALIAN TAX BASE BY MIGRANTS In 2013-14, migrant taxpayers generated $84 billion in total personal income, which is was an increase of 7% on 2012-13, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics recently released. The ABS now has five years of data which allows them to have a better understanding of the personal income earned by migrants each year. Since 2010-11, the median total income for permanent migrants has increased by 4.9%, compared to 4.5% for the whole Australian taxpayer population.



13.01.2022 Visa Application Charges will increase for most Australian visa subclasses on 1 July 2018. The credit card surcharge paid at lodgement will also increase from 0.98% to 1.32%.

The report shows the Irish being the top paid migrant group, with a median total personal income of $73,840 for 2013-14 (the latest available figures). The next group were the UK arrivals ($61,486), South Africans ($60,174) and Malaysians ($51,008).
