23.01.2022 This message from Leah Edmonds, daughter of Johnny Edmonds, Director, World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA). It is with a very heavy heart that we announce ...that our beloved Dad / Koro passed away on 5th May 2020. We are thankful to have been able to bring Dad home for his last week and he was surrounded by whnau and endless love. We are so lucky to have had such an amazing Dad/Koro. He was taken from us far too soon, but he will live on in all of us and his moko. Due to Covid19 restrictions, there are limitations around his funeral/tangi. So we will be having Dad’s ceremony tomorrow (Thursday 7th May 2020) and we will be streaming Dad’s service. The live stream will start at 12:45 pm, with the ceremony starting at 1:00 pm., Wellington New Zealand times. 07.01.2022 On behalf of the World Indigenous Tourism Summit (WITS), being hosted by WAITOC and WINTA, we are advising that WITS 2020, which was scheduled to take place from 2 - 5 November 2020, will no longer be held at that time. We are working with our venue partner, Crown Perth, to secure new dates in late 2021 when we are confident speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates will be able to make definitive plans to attend. We thank you for your understanding and continuous support ...throughout the last few months. We look forward to welcoming you all to WITS next year. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us [email protected]
