25.01.2022 Many factors can contribute to the damage of goods in transit. The main contributors to a damaged parcel? Shock, vibration, compression, extreme climate conditions and altitude. These five elements can impact how a package will end up from A to B if it isn't packaged well. How can you avoid this? Here are four recommendations to help you avoid any damage during transit. 1. Use a corrugated box that is suitable for the items being shipped. ... 2. Surround each item by at least 5cm of cushioning. They should be at least 5 cm away from the walls of the box. 3. Secure your package with pressure-sensitive plastic or nylon-reinforced filament tape. It should be at least 5cm or more in width. 4. Use proper labelling. Our World Options labels include bar codes and routing codes used to ensure accurate routing for the prompt delivery of your shipments.

24.01.2022 Today we have been informed from one of our Service Providers stating that the South Australian border will be closing as of midnight tonight. At this stage it will be closed for 6 days with the option of closing for an additional 8 days. They have requested that we do not place any bookings to SA as they will not be collecting any consignments. Any non-essential freight will not be collected as they do not have the capacity to store this freight. ... The supplier was advised that medical equipment and food is the only product that will cross the border and will be accepted into SA. We have written to all of our suppliers requesting an update and at the time of posting we had not received any information. I would venture to suggest similar responses may come our way.

23.01.2022 Following is a snapshot of the current affairs both locally and internationally. Australian Impact The reduction of import volumes is expected to continue for another two to three months at least, as production and export of goods from major trading partners in Europe and North America continues to stagnate. Air Cargo... As lock-downs begin to lift there will be a clamour for collection of export cargoes. Delays should be expected at this time. Airlines have suffered significant stress during the periods of lockdown. Many airlines are beginning to ramp up their cargo schedules in a bid to generate enough cash-flow to sustain operations. If you have any urgent cargo to move from China via air cargo please contact us. Sea Cargo As lock-downs begin to lift there will be a clamour for collection of export cargoes and empty equipment. Delays should be anticipated at this time.By way of example Vessels sailing from China to Australia after 1st February 2020 will not be allowed to enter port within a 14-day window of last being in China. This means for voyages taking 12 days, the vessel will have to anchor offshore for 2 days before being permitted to berth. Export Cargo The change in supply and demand of shipping services has seen some shipping lines implement a Peak Season Surcharge for cargo moving from Australia to most regions (except USA and Europe).

22.01.2022 Are you looking to Export? The Federal Govt has introduced reforms to the Export Marketing Development Grant (EMDG) program. The reforms include cutting red tape, increasing awareness of the scheme, and giving exporters more funding certainty. The reoriented EMDG program, multi-year grants will be available for eligible SMEs at three stages of their export journey:... Eligible SMEs who are new to export will be able to access grants totalling up to $80,000 over two years. Finally, those exporters who continue to expand into new markets will be able to access further grants totalling up to $450,000 over three years. 22.01.2022 This like a great opportunity to bag a gift or two for Xmas.

22.01.2022 According to the 2019 Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise report, small businesses made up almost 98% of all Australian businesses. Many small businesses have been greatly affected by the pandemic and have also affected the many people that work for a small business. This Christmas, support a small business. I know it's easy to find the gifts you need or want at a large retailer. But, you never know what treasures you might find from a local small business. Are you going to support small businesses this Christmas?

22.01.2022 Each day brings new opportunities. I have always been of the firm belief that sharing what you can do to help other people out can reap rewards in the long run. When communicating don't just communicate to make the sale communicate in way that you are truly trying to help some-one out of their predicament. Thanks Jon

22.01.2022 With Covid-19 placing increasing limitations on F2F contact, moving your business or as much of it as you can on-line will be a challenge. I came across this little starter fact sheet produced by the Tasmanian Government which I thought would be a good conversation piece for new entrants to the e-commerce market

19.01.2022 Are your in front of the 50% of Aussies looking for businesses online! More than 49% of Aussies are likely supporting local businesses during this global pandemic (Rakuten Advertising) If you are promoting yourself as uniquely Australian you are more likely to win over the online shopper whereas those that seek bargains and lower prices generally shop internationally.... A recent survey across Asia-Pacific region reported 73% of Australians want brands to communicate with compassion and empathy. The same survey indicated that shoppers were less impacted by the offer of vouchers and promotions but were more interested in brands that reach out through the right marketing messages, channels and partners. Interestingly Australians do not rely on social media to discover new brands and content creators are not an important decision-making factor with only 8% of Australians finding new brands through bloggers and influencers. Additionally, 31 per cent of Australians are more likely to choose email as the preferred channel to engage with brands, which is relatively high as compared to the rest of Asia-Pacific. They also like to use search engines to find new retailers. Thanks to small business connections (SBS Online) for this insightful information.

19.01.2022 A further update re our South Australia Covid19 Lockdown All our other carriers are pushing on with business as usual as best they can. They have advised delays, especially with interstate freight, however they will push on as best they can. TNT has advised however, that all TNT freight will be delivered to their Adelaide depots but no further than that during the 6 days of lockdown (other than food, medical, and other essentials). ... There may be some deliveries/collections to/from industry that is allowed to open but that will depend on whether these industries will accept deliveries. TNT’s recommendation is not to send anything into SA until there is an easing of the current lock down.

17.01.2022 Creepy, Interesting, or overreaching: watching "The Social Dilemma" on Netflex. Its actually an eye opener. 13.01.2022 Chinas Golden Week 2020 is just around the corner. The country-wide celebrations begin on October 1st and last through October 8th. During this national holiday, most of Chinas suppliers and logistics providers will be off, bringing most manufacturing and freight to a standstill if the goods were not yet picked up. While were still deep in Peak Season and gearing up for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and holiday shopping we dont want your freight to come to a halt. ... To keep things moving, try to book any new shipments as soon as possible. If youve already booked shipments, no need to worry, theyll still be on their way, even during Golden Week.

12.01.2022 Being thoughtful Thursday, I thought some good news might brighten your week, instead of the more depressing headline stores confronting us in the last few months. I woke this morning to find my inbox contained this headline story from Power Retail Pulse - RETAIL TURNOVER INCREASES 3.2 PERCENT, ONLINE SALES CONTINUE TO SOAR. This follows a 2.7 percent rise in June. Whilst we are still facing uncertain times, there are however glimmers of hope around the corner. There are op...portunities out there, consumer spending has remained buoyant and households are still spending. Household goods led the monthly rises, with an increase of four percent albeit in larger household items. Turnover in other areas such as clothing, footwear, and personal accessory retailing 7.1 percent. I experienced this rise in monthly turnover in July with a 3-fold increase in monthly B2B and B2C shipment of goods across Australia. While August was slightly down, it remains to be seen if the trend of larger volume in goods being shipped continues. Heres hoping we can all share in somewhat improved consumer spending. Over to you be positive, there is hope. @Worldoptionsaustralia See more

11.01.2022 A little left field. Did you know that October 1st is National Black Dog Day! It’s a day to get the word out and encourage people to adopt black dogs, who often get left behind in shelters just because of the color of their fur. Black Dog Syndrome is a phenomenon where black dogs are passed over for adoption in favor of lighter-colored animals. Black dogs are more likely to be euthanized in shelters regardless of their breed. Some say it’s because they look scary or angry, ...or you can’t read their expressions as easily, or they don’t look as good in photos. Some say that their black fur hides their distinct personalities. Help break stereotypes and spread the truth on National Black Dog Day, October 1st. These dogs deserve homes just as much as dogs of any other color! See the link fir ten reasons why you should adopt a black dog.https://www.google.com//29385-national-black-dog-day-o/amp
