15.01.2022 G'day Friends, In my post on the 13th March 2020, I mentioned that I would be taking a song idea to the Song Writer's Retreat 2020. Due to circumstances the actual Song Writer's Retreat did not happen but instead we have been having a monthly video conference meeting. At our last meeting on Wednesday my song was presented and discussed. It was a rough recording and technology was not on my side but I had some great feedback, including that it needs a 4th verse to tie it all ...together. That same night (a bit after 3am in the morning) I woke up and a verse quickly formed in my mind. After a little tweak to one of the lines, in the morning, I added verse 4 to the song. 11.01.2022 G'day Friends, This week I would like to share a song that I wrote in 2013 called 'Show God's Grace'. The song is based on the 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over... my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 08.01.2022 G’day Friends, I would like to share with you the exciting news that I have started work on a CD project, recording some of the songs that I have written. The recording are being co-produced by Gordon Barr (our Church Pastor) and Karen Hush (a friend of Gordon’s). It is early days so far but I am really enjoying working with Gordon and Karen. We have been working on mapping out the arrangements for each song.... I would really value your prayers for this project. My hope and prayer is that this project will give me more opportunities to have a positive impact on people and to glorify God.
