01.01.2022 Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year from the NTA NTA End-of-Year Appeal: https://www.givenow.com.au/nusatenggaraxmas Dear supporters,... The past 12 months have thrown some real challenges to us all. Fire and hail affected all of us in eastern Australia and COVID-19 has had a dramatic effect throughout the world. Our beneficiaries in eastern Indonesia have not been spared. On top of all this, the operations of NTA have also been impaired by restrictions on travel and gatherings. But even in the face of these challenges, there have been some encouraging developments. With NTA unable to visit our field locations, our implementing partners really stepped up to the plate and showed just how good they are. NTA Indonesia was able to establish effective systems for communicating with our schools and communities. NTA Indonesia quickly developed a COVID-19 project which got messages and information out to communities, displayed banners and posters in public areas, provided many hand-washing stations and soap along with hygiene training. Two schools that previously had no water storage were provided with water tanks. To support the NTA Indonesia efforts, NTA ran a COVID-19 appeal. We were very pleased to receive the support of our donors and this allowed us to implement the vast majority of the projects that had been planned. The COVID appeal has highlighted the importance of improved hygiene to tackle all sorts of health issues and this program has provided the impetus to continue this focus. A summary of our achievement for 2019-20 is below. NTA's End of Year Appeal is to provide tanks and toilets for Oelnaineno Village in West Timor. It is an area with a great need for assistance. Next year we shall come back stronger than ever. We have spent 30 years working with the poor farming communities of eastern Indonesia. We are extremely proud of this achievement. Our Annual Tea Party in Melbourne is to be held on 21 February and our Annual Fun-d Raising Dinner in Canberra on Friday 19 March 2021. Further details will follow early in 2021. NTA wishes all of its supporters and their families the very best for Christmas and the New Year. Kind regards, The NTA Team
