19.01.2022 Rugby lovers listen up Rugby Victoria has provided an update regarding the immediate suspension of all RV activities in the LGA's ordered to isolate for the next 6 weeks. Quarantine effective from 11.59pm Wed 08.07.2020. This means no trainings, no games or competition for clubs in metropolitan Melbourne.... We may be locked down for now but we are definitely not out!! We're confident our rugby community will be hyper vigilant during this time and practice physical distancing because like you, we want to ensure our clubs emerge from quarantine more resolute and as committed as ever to our great game. Stay safe dear families and friends. We got this https://vic.rugby/news/2020/07/08/rv-statement-july-8

19.01.2022 In a sport dominated at all levels by males, read how Melbourne Rebels Women's head coach Alana Thomas is paving the way for Women In Union. From playing and coaching at grass roots to becoming a representative player and more recently, assistant coach for the Wallaroos, Alana is motivated to give back. Well done Alana, our hats off to you for all that you do. https://www.rugbyworldcup.com/2021/news/571490?lang=en

19.01.2022 Get behind this great initiative. Calling anyone with a penchant for coaching or mentoring. Carbon Mentoring Pty Ltd is a dedicated mentoring programme designed to increase the retention of female sporting talent and support young athletes to achieve their personal goals while staying connected with their sport. A significant issue that needs addressing as part of the solution to greater female representation at elite competition level, in coaching positions, sports managem...ent, board directorships and the wider leadership community is the massive attrition of athletes from sport during their formative years. Find out how you can become involved, click on the list below. https://www.facebook.com/114752483728882/posts/117632293440901/

18.01.2022 It's heartening to see one of Victoria's very own Development Office/Player/Manager/Rep Player share their story. Sammi is well known throughout our Community. When she isn't facilitating clinics or performing her job as the DO, you can see her most Saturdays during the season playing the game we love. Sammi is a great ambassador of the Women's game and she's laid down so many foundations. Super chuffed to know her and this video showcases not only the work she has done in her time but how she is an overall fantastic person. Great work Sammi!!! https://youtu.be/0GLLR-oNd60Devel

08.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to know what it takes to be a Coach? Well, we sat down with 3 of our very own female Coaches to ask what drew them to a role that has traditionally been performed by males. Needless to say, all 3 Women are extraordinary and beloved within their respective communities. Having played from a young age, each Women has gone on to enjoy representative duties. With over 400 games between them and a combined Rugby IQ/EQ that is off the charts, all 3 coaches hav...e shown a generosity of spirit, of sharing in knowledge and of their time. They payin’ it forward now and Coaching has seemingly been the natural progression for all 3 Women. So without further delay we are excited to bring you the next instalment of YOU CAN ASK THAT and invite you to enjoy the candid insights of Alana Thomas, Hana Epa and Silei Etuale https://www.wrdavic.com/2020//you-can-ask-that-coaches.html https://www.youtube.com/playlist https://www.wrdavic.com/2020/10/coaching-courses.html

06.01.2022 There is a large underrepresentation of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women, in leadership positions across multiple sectors. To increase organisational performance, social responsibility, membership and gender equality in the sport sector, there is a need to increase the number of CALD women as leaders. Victoria University, Melbourne Australia in conjunction with Diversity Council Australia are conducting a survey; 'Women from culturally diverse backgrounds: Understanding why you are or are not interested to be a leader in sport.'
