14.01.2022 Good Morning All, NSW Workers Compensation Announcement At 2pm yesterday, icare announced that it has selected EML, GIO and Allianz to continue as Claims Service Agents in NSW beyond 31 December 2017.... CGU made the choice not to engage in the agent selection process and will transition out of the scheme on 31 December 2017. QBE will also conclude its role as an icare scheme agent on 31 December 2017. EML, GIO and Allianz will work closely with icare and the current agents, to transition to icare’s new claims service model. We have summarised some additional information provided by icare below for your review; As of 30 April 2017 all workers insurance policies will renew directly with icare, rather than your current insurance agents. Until 31 December 2017 the current scheme agent panel will continue to deliver services to injured workers and employers under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme. All workers compensation policy holders and claimants will be contacted from mid-June 2017 to update them on their individual circumstances. EML will be the new claims service agent for ALL new claims from 1 January 2018 If you have workers with active workers insurance claims, icare will contact them from mid-June to advise them of the changes If your claims are to be moved to another scheme agent, you will be contacted before the transfer occurs. icare has recommended that portfolios remain with their current scheme agent to ensure employees aren’t making multiple moves with their claims, to maintain continuity of claims management activities and look after all injured employees There will be no changes to your icare workers insurance premium following this change icare will make every effort to minimise the disruption to you, with claims moved to the scheme agent selected, to continue providing services on behalf of icare. Your claims will be transferred to the scheme agent that will be managing your icare workers insurance; you are unable to appeal this decision In summary, CGU and QBE will exit the scheme 31/12/2017. EML will manage all new claims from 1 January 2018, with all existing claims from CGU/QBE being transferred to GIO/Allianz for further management. As your trusted Workers Compensation Insurance Broker, WRI will continue to work closely with icare and the various scheme agents throughout the transition process to protect your interests. Should you have any queries, as always please do not hesitate to contact Trinette Smart or Anita Subotic. https://www.workersinsurance.icare.nsw.gov.au//icare-worke
