This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Youth Lawyer eager to work in an innovative environment within a dynamic team doing ground breaking work. The Youth Lawyer will be employed as a member of the growing WEstjustice Youth Law team. They will undertake work across ...a range of programs in areas of Health Justice and Education Justice. The focus of these programs is to improve the lives of vulnerable youth through legal education, casework, community development, court appearances and advocacy delivered in schools, youth law clinics, and other youth centric locations. The Youth Lawyer will be based at our Werribee office but will be required work across our other locations in the Western suburbs. The person we are seeking will be admitted to practice and have the proven ability to relate to vulnerable youth. All applicants must have at least three years minimum legal experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer who wants to work with young people to improve access to justice and to overcome isolation and alienation from the legal system. Given recent developments with the Coronavirus, the WSLA has made the difficult decision to cancel the dinner next Tuesday. HOWEVER the LIV have been wonderful and offered us their resources to enable us to set up a web-streaming event for you all who have already paid to attend. Your tickets will be refunded (apart from the try-booking fee), so you will be lucky enough to receiv...e these points for free We are currently confirming whether our speakers are able to do this. Those that can, the speakers will be live streamed to you. We are hoping to still be able to offer you the three topics and will confirm this as soon as we can. The streaming will commence at 5pm sharp rather than 6pm as there will be no need to travel. PLEASE NOTE that this will only be offered to those who have already purchased tickets.
