15.01.2022 The Pathway to Home Ownership Program is helping Aboriginal families to buy their first home. Did you know that many clients are finding that they are now paying less in their mortgage repayments than they were previously paying in their rent each fortnight? If you are living in the East Kimberley and would like to purchase a house through Indigenous Business Australia, the following criteria applies;... Aboriginality Buying a house for the first time Been in the same place of employment for 12 months Score over 550 on your Credit Check. If you are a couple, this applies to both applicants. Have $3,000 savings for your house loan deposit (depends on your income) The process can take from 2 to 6 months to complete, depending on the demand for the service. Alternatively, another option is to use an independent broker to find a suitable lender. This process is much quicker to facilitate but you will be required to have a deposit amount of 10% of property value (approx. $30,000 for current market values in Kununurra) If you are interested in Home Ownership, contact Natasha on 0448 061 612 for more details.

13.01.2022 My Waste to Wages Roadtrip to Kununurra, in partnership with Revive, ACFS Port Logistics, KEYS - The Moving Solution and the Western Roads Federation is almost ...ready to go! Yesterday we received the artwork for the project which was inspired by indigenous designs sourced by my very dear friend Ian Trust, Chair and Executive Director of the Wunan Foundation. The artwork has been fixed to the side of the containers to mark the journey. Also, a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of collecting my last piece of furniture for the project which was generously donated by a WA Labor party member all the way down in Margaret River, approximately 280 kilometers and 3 hours south of Perth. John rang me up to offer a brand new bed set that hadn’t been used so I took the opportunity to drive down, collect the bed and thank him myself. I’ve been blown away by the support I’ve received for this project and I look forward to keeping you all updated on my journey which starts on Monday morning. Have a great weekend!

06.01.2022 According to the National Waste Report, 2018, the decline of newspaper circulation and the digitisation of information was partially responsible for a decline in the amount of paper and cardboard waste that ended up in Australian landfills over the last decade (Industry Edge 2018). Wunan's Social Enterprise iBase has made great strides in reducing the use of printing and paper in the organisation.

03.01.2022 Operating under the brand Wunan Health, the new Wunan Health & Well-Being Centre opened its doors at its purpose-built facility yesterday. Formerly known as Kununurra Medical, Wunan Health & Well-Being Centre is the only privately owned primary healthcare provider between Broome in the West Kimberley and Katherine in the Northern Territory. With the generous support of Lotterywest, Wunan's vision of expanding the capacity of the former practice came into fruition. Our archi...tectural and construction services partner, Thermal Comfort Homes did a fantastic job at creating a purpose-built clinic with energy-efficient features to suit the Kimberley weather. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Wunan Health Team for their amazing work as well as the community of Kununurra for their support over the years. We couldn't have done this without you! Please like and follow the Wunan Health Facebook page for more updates.

With the amazing s...upport from Lotterywest, we are able to take the first step on the journey towards making a contribution to improve the health of the whole community. At the moment, we understand the inconvenience of waiting time that our patients have to experience when they come in to see a GP. The new Wunan Health and Wellbeing Centre will have a range of state-of-the art facilities, more space to provide a better experience and to expand our services. We are grateful for our clients for their patience and support. Watch this space for more updates on the Wunan Health and Wellbeing Centre!
