23.01.2022 Well what a 2020 hey!!! The club has seen a huge influx of junior riders and all the parents have been awesome. The club hosted the NSW junior Road championships, racing out at Wantabadgery and Qunity was been hugely supported and our track has started with a bang. Cycling has now been reintroduced into the Southern Sports Academy and the soil has been turned on the new Multi Sports complex out at Pomi.... 2021 is set to be massive!!!!! We enjoyed our 2020 Chrissy Party and congratulations to all our 2020 road winners. 23.01.2022 A big thanks to the Tolland Cycling club for putting on today’s Road Race. Our juniors had an awesome day and did fantastic in rolling turns and learning their race craft. Thanks to all the officials and great job to Georgia for collecting First Lady in today’s Race.

19.01.2022 Hello Members, WWCC will host the NSW Junior Road Championships on the 17th and 18th October, followed by the Australian Junior Road Championships on the 20th, 21st and 22nd November. To successfully run these championships, we need your assistance. Please have a look at the following jobs list and advise by return email if you are able to assist.... If you have a particular preference for a job, please advise; otherwise let me know the times that you will be available. This may range from a few hours to all weekend. NSW Junior Road Championships - Saturday 17th October Wantabadgery (6.30 am 3pm approx) First Race 9am 6.30am - set up assistants X 6 (duties include setting up tents, flags, putting out signs, general set up, sweeping corners) 7.30am - sign on assistants X 2 7.00am 10.00am - parking marshals X 2 7.30am - announcer X 1 8.00am - first aid x2 (in shifts if more than 2 volunteers) 8.00am - course marshals X 6 3.00pm - pack down assistants X 4 NSW Junior Road Championships - Sunday 18th October Wantabadgery (7 am 12 noon approx) First Race 9am 7.00am - set up assistants X 6 (duties include setting up tents, flags, putting out signs, general set up) 7.00am 12noon - parking marshals X 2 8.00am - announcer X 1 7.30am - drivers (lead car, follow car, spares car, commissiare drivers) for each age group (up to 30 required!) 7.30am - first aid x2 (in shifts if more than 2 volunteers) 8.00am - course marshals X 6 7.30am - sign on assistant X 2 12 noon - pack down assistants X 6 Also needed on Friday afternoon: Drivers to pick up 2x toilets from Coates Hire Assistance to load portable fencing at Coates Hire James Vickers Membership Secretary Wagga Wagga Cycling Club

18.01.2022 It's only 10 more sleeps until the NSW Junior State Road Championships Coach Cam did a full lap of the under 15 and 17 Road Course and he was able to do it in just over 1 minute. Entries close this coming Sunday.... We have a few more videos of the courses coming your way so stay tuned.

18.01.2022 We had our three Wagga Juniors take on the Illawarra Track Carnival today. The kids said the weather is just like home. Lexie had an awesome day out on her first time on the Unanderra Velodrome, taking first in the scratch, points Race, elimination and a second in the whee race. CJ also in the same grade was 2nd in scratch, points and Elimination and 1st in the wheelrace. Archie enjoyed his racing in the under 11’s and was counting down to his time at the beach.

15.01.2022 The Cycling NSW calendar is absolutely jammed packed over the next four weeks and if you can’t find a race that doesn’t suit you you might have to take up knitting. Entries close tonight for the Illawarra Track Carnival and Criterium on the Sunday around the world famous flagstaff hill.

10.01.2022 It’s was another picture perfect night and both the little kids and big kids had a ball. Coach Gethin got the kids to finish with a Le Mans one lap sprint. Learning skills and having fun.

09.01.2022 Today is set to be a MASSIVE day out at Wantabadgery. (And sunshine) Time trials and Handicap AND state recon. This will be our last week out at Wantabadgery prior to States next week. We have a huge Chocolate pizza to give out to some of our riders today and we will also have a 20km Handicap for the adults.... So come on out and have some fun. Starting at 2pm for our TT followed by our Handicaps then a bit of Recon. $2 for all riders. If anyone can bring either an out door broom or a blower to do a bit of sweeping on corners that be awesome..

All training today is on Track bikes. 5-6pm newbies... 6-7pm regulars 7-8pm Rush Hour with Mick $5 For any parents who have kids racing in states this weekend we will do a helmet check and roll out on the kids road bikes to make sure we have plenty of time to fix or adjust bikes prior to this weekend. Registration from 9am at the Collingullie Hotel - The course is ~70km with a few minor undulations. It runs from Collingullie to just outsidetye Rock and return’s twice.... Due to COVID19 restrictions disrupting various clubs participation in the race series the Butch Menz will not be part of the Tour de Riverina race series for 2020 Entry is only open to those with a Cycling NSW or AusCycling race licence. Even though the sun was on point our guys and gals got the full brunt of the westerly and great numbers for our last road race of the season. We had 30 members come out and test themselves in the TT and handicap. 3km TT Teddy Corboy 6.38... Our junior 6km was won by young gun Emmett Harris who rode off by himself and kept away from everyone for the whole 6km!!!!!, Sydney was chasing him down but was unable to catch Emmett, but had enough in the tank to just beat fast eddy home who collected 3rd The seniors set sail over the 20km handicap and everyone seemed to be so happy with Cam about their handicap (said no one ever) Tyler was to strong for everyone except Chris who he couldn’t shake off his wheel coming into the final 100m, Rebel rounded out the podium in Third, but word on the street was she did all the work and got rolled on the line. Thanks to everyone for such an awesome 2020 and best of luck to all our riders next week at the junior state championships... Annalisa Corboy
