23.01.2022 We have recently been honored by Gourmet Traveler and one Mr Peter Forrestall in being named ‘Star cellar door in Geographe Region’. We are very grateful and humbled by this title and warmly thank Gourmet Traveler for their continued contributions to the Australian Wine tourism industry. Last year we won ‘Best tasting experience’, which at the time meant so much because it was the heights of covid and we felt so wonderful to be able to offer people some joy in uncertain time...s- we’ve been lucky here in Western Australia, but honestly I think the flow on impact is/was huge- especially to mental health and peoples beautiful hearts and minds, connection and communication is so important, and it’s where cellar doors and friendly faces come in right on que. Firstly we are nothing but a little cedar room without our beloved patrons and devoted customers- from the bottom of our hearts, warm thanks. 23.01.2022 | On Gratitude | There is always something to sing about... always something to be grateful for- I am lucky and so appreciative of having two healthy and kind hearted sweet and beautiful children and a husband that dreams are made of, who is loving and kind to me in a fashion that moves from him like a flowing stream, my cup is filled and overflowing with love...but my customers fill my 9 to 5s with immense amounts of fulfillment. Yesterday I heard of the passing of my very ...dear customer come friend, Pauline, a local lady, an absolutely spectacular human being who always was so generous of spirit. She once gave me a book Angels in my hair by Lorna Byrne- how ironic that I now find myself thinking Pauline, do you now have your very own set of beautiful angel wings? when her dear husband Ray came in to share the sad news, I felt over come by his courage to step in and tell me and I was bought to tears by his love for his wife and for the way he now honors her memory. We can often feel in todays world, in the hurry and the rush that weve lost our way- We often dont know the provenance of our food and wine, nor do we have relationships with those who grow and produce our food. ... I had some dear friends stop by today and remind me that breaking bread with those you love is both a privilege and a priority and emulates a feeling of holiness as I watched them sit together and eat their picnic lunch. I dont have any advice nor do I consider myself wise enough to even attempt knowing the answers to lifes big questions. But I do know that if you come and see me, I will always be here for a story, a laugh and Ive made the time, truly this is the beautiful thing about cellar door. 08.01.2022 Well it’s been nearly two months since our last Facebook post. We hope you are all doing okay, and that there continues to be sunshine on the horizon for every body. 2020 has had its challenges for all, we have been very lucky to continue working and operating as primary producers and small business owners. We continue to be deeply humbled and full of gratitude for the wonderful loyal custom base we have in this magnificent country. Thank you Australia. ... So yesterday I thought I’d pour myself (yes myself) a glass of Barrecas 2019 Unwooded Chardonnay and take some photos just for you guys. It’s been a long winter, and pruning is now officially over. Warm thanks to our team. Mark, Marc and Allesadnro. Vines look great. Bud burst has happened, whites are on their way and are now in to second leaf. the reds are now at bud burst. With little pink buds all over the place. The sun is rising earlier and setting later already and spring is just so welcome! It is so nice to see some sunshine and feel some warmth! We have some exciting new plantings. Some Prosecco, Montepulciano, further plantings of Pinotage, Saperavi as well as another 2000 olive trees, varietals from Spain and Greece. More to come on all of this soon. We have warmer days to look forward to, so this means we will get some live music happening again and Sunday sessions with talented local musicians. We will be stocking local cheese and small goods so you can select and build your own grazing selection. More to come on that by end October. As well as gig dates and times. Business hours will remain the same and unchanging. Those hours are as follows:... Monday 10-4pm Tuesday (delivering south west run) Wednesday (delivering south west run) Thursday 10-4 Friday 10-4 (evening delivery south west run) additional due to high demand. Saturday 10-5 Sunday 10-5 Covid 19: our premises are bleached and disinfected daily. All door handles including the bar and electronic devices such as eftpos terminals are wiped with throw away disinfectant wipes after each and every use. No more than six patrons are allowed in our small tasting room at one time this is for your safety and ours. No one who serves you at Barrecas has traveled in the last two months and we respectfully ask that if you have recently traveled that you also please keep away. thank you We are delivering on Fridays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to those people who are unable to get to us free of charge. 05.01.2022 Well its been nearly two months since our last Facebook post. We hope you are all doing okay, and that there continues to be sunshine on the horizon for every body. 2020 has had its challenges for all, we have been very lucky to continue working and operating as primary producers and small business owners. We continue to be deeply humbled and full of gratitude for the wonderful loyal custom base we have in this magnificent country. Thank you Australia. ... So yesterday I thought Id pour myself (yes myself) a glass of Barrecas 2019 Unwooded Chardonnay and take some photos just for you guys. Its been a long winter, and pruning is now officially over. Warm thanks to our team. Mark, Marc and Allesadnro. Vines look great. Bud burst has happened, whites are on their way and are now in to second leaf. the reds are now at bud burst. With little pink buds all over the place. The sun is rising earlier and setting later already and spring is just so welcome! It is so nice to see some sunshine and feel some warmth! We have some exciting new plantings. Some Prosecco, Montepulciano, further plantings of Pinotage, Saperavi as well as another 2000 olive trees, varietals from Spain and Greece. More to come on all of this soon. We have warmer days to look forward to, so this means we will get some live music happening again and Sunday sessions with talented local musicians. We will be stocking local cheese and small goods so you can select and build your own grazing selection. More to come on that by end October. As well as gig dates and times. We have some beautiful new additions to our tasting area being added soon to enhance the natural beauty and create ambiance to wine tastings and outlook here at Barrecas, this is our gift to you to make a space for you to simply be, to feel relaxed and to unwind. 02.01.2022 Harvest continues- warm thanks to our team on-site who are literally keeping the wheels turning. The ever reliable Ian, Mark and William - harvest is gnarly, long hours and watching the sun come up for multiple days and then crushes all day-thank you for always being so willing to show up and work so hard. In the tasting room my beautiful Laura who keeps things tied up here perfectly while I am busy We are so lucky to have a great team and are very grateful for everyone’s p...assion and skill.
