25.01.2022 Have you thought about feeding your dog raw food instead of can or dry food? Or adding some raw to their existing diet? Do you want to feed raw but do not have the time to make a raw meal or do not like handling the food? We have been making raw food for our own dogs for several years and have started making it for some of our clients. We source all Australian produce where possible, we will not use any products from China and other countries where they are allowed to use pesticides and other products / contaminated water etc. Our meat comes from Prime Pets here in Warrnambool, we use Beef and Kangaroo in our mixes. If you are interested, or would like some information Inbox me. We can supply a sample to see if your dogs like it.

14.01.2022 DID YOU SEE LANDLINE on THE ABC? BUY ONLY BIRDSEYE AND EDGELL This was shown on the program Landline on the ABC Think about this and circulate to your fam...ily and friends: The ONLY Australian manufacturer of frozen Australian grown vegetables (Simplot Australia) is not far from closing because a number of the other well-known Australian brands have moved their plants to New Zealand in order to capture the Chinese vegetable market where they market via New Zealand to Australian tables (without the food being labelled specifically as Chinese) and Simplot is finding it hard to compete. SHOULD SIMPLOT CLOSE, THIS MEANS THAT NO AUSTRALIAN GROWN FROZEN VEGETABLES WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ALL AND WE WILL BE RELYING ON FOOD GROWN TOTALLY OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA. For a number of reasons this is not a good situation. 1. As most people know, other countries do not necessarily have the strict guidelines for growing their vegetables that Australia has and by buying Australian we can be sure that lethal chemicals that may be used in other countries will not be used on Australian vegetables. 2. We would be losing Australians jobs. 3. If ever the world became unstable regarding wartime we would not be able to feed ourselves It is imperative that we all support these Australian brands selling good Australian vegetable products (via Simplot): Birdseye and Edgell. Next time you shop, please think about the future of Australian food. What do you reckon folks? Let’s buy Birdseye and Edgell. Some of us love our designer labels. We buy premium brand shoes, premium brand clothing and well known premium perfumes and handbags. BUT ... we also look for and buy the cheapest food we can for our children to eat. That doesn't make sense. This is so true. The farmers in Tasmania are extremely worried about Simplot's impending closure. They also have a lone food processing plant in Bathurst subjected to the same uncertainty. If these last remaining plants close, it means that China then has total control over our fresh/frozen vegie industry. It is particularly disturbing to see that Chinese-grown vegetables are coming in branded as a product of New Zealand. PLEASE PASS THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN DON'T BITCH LATER ON WHEN ALL FOOD IS IMPORTED AND EXPENSIVE JUST BECAUSE WE SAVED A FEW CENTS BUYING THE CHEAPER BRAND TODAY AND HELPED TO CLOSE DOWN AUSTRALIA COMPANIES...

02.01.2022 THIS IS THE REASON WE AS BREEDERS ARE ALWAYS BLAMED FOR THE PUPPIES HAVING SO CALLED GENETIC FAULTS BY ONE PUPPY OWNER OUT OF A LITTER OF OTHERWISE GREAT HEALTH...Y PUPPIES. I really wish that people would listen to what is said and written when they pick up the or puppies. Time and time again we see photos and videos on fb from these people with puppies jumping and doing things they shouldn’t be doing and then the problem suddenly becomes our problem! it makes me sad! Please have a look at the photos and you will see how easy the damage is done! Original post by Lynda Schulze This is something everyone should see. When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet. When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited, bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in. But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile wit no traction you are damaging the joint. You only get the change to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one. Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once. A bit of back-story: This is a baby puppy who had a knock to his elbow and wasn't using it properly, so he was taken to the vet. There is nothing wrong in these x-rays, thankfully it is a soft tissue injury and he is expected to be fine.

01.01.2022 As a vet who do NOT believe in oral products to prevent tick diseases I will give my two cents here; what a lot of people do NOT know is that the most important... thing to prevent tick disease is NOT to kill the tick when it is already in the dog ,but to prevent it from climbing the dog. For this, products that repel ticks by smell are the best option so far. If your dog still catch a tick, then manually remove it, because if using a repellent like Neem, natural oils, before leaving the house, your dog hardly would be infested. .people are led to believe that oral/topical pesticides DO NOT let the dog become contaminated with tick disease ... big mistake, because in order to die, the tick needs to BITE the dog to be killed by the pesticide. Just one bite of a disease-bearing tick will contaminate your dog. The only thing pesticides do, is to prevent YOU from seeing hundreds of ticks on your dog, as your dog has already taken hundreds of bites, so hundreds of ticks are dead now. What's the use of you not seeing the ticks anymore, if your dog has already been bitten all over by them ??? Oral or topical pesticides DO NOT repel ticks! This is the biggest mistake consumers make when choosing these products, because Vets didn't explain this. The fact that you DO NOT see more ticks on your dog ,does NOT mean that it is protected from diseases! This means that the ticks that were on it, had already bitten your dog and fell dead to the ground. It's a fallacy. What can really help your dog to not get bitten, are products that give off some kind of smell that repels the tick. There are several natural oils that mixed together with water, can be sprayed under the dog's fur before leaving the house. This will significantly decrease the number of ticks that would climbed on your dog; after each walk, do a manual inspection and remove any ticks that may have climbed on it. Believe me, if you have ticks in your area, your dog will always be bitten ... UNLESS you lock it indoors. So, why give a poison to your dog if this poison only kill the ticks when the damage is already done ? Owners get some comfort because they could not see the ticks anymore...but unfortunately this is only an illusion. Your dog is already poisoned by the pesticide ( which is more likely to kill your dog before a tick disease would ) and your dog has already hundreds of tick bites. So, in my understanding as a Vet, is much more effective repelling ticks instead of killing it by poisoning them through your dog's already poisoned blood stream. I believe a lot of people already realized this, but I thought it could help those who doesn't. Yet. I apologize for any grammar mistakes. See more
