25.01.2022 Hi ho. One of the many reasons I like Strats so much is you can do things with them to make them suit you because they're so easy to pull apart or build. A mod I've been doing for years is to sculpt the heel of the neck, which is much less of a hassle if the neck's not painted. Now that I've assembled 2 Strats using unfinished Warmoth necks and bodies I'm going to make 2 more, this time with rosewood fingerboards.

22.01.2022 Shopping at Stewmac for guitar related stuff is serious fun. Spraying paint will be one whole lot easier now.

22.01.2022 Hi again. The Warmoth neck with the rosewood fingerboard is coming along nicely. After 2 days of rubbing watered down translucent yellow acrylic paint yesterday was pretty much perfect to spray some laquer.

21.01.2022 Hi again. Slight correction. The Tele is a Japanese one, which means it was made in the Yamaha factory. Nonetheless, I have seen many superb guitars come out of Indonesia.

18.01.2022 Hi ho, Once again I'm sorry it's been so long. Moving house and lots of teaching have kept me off the street. I've also been busy painting a one-piece Warmoth alder body I bought back in January. The main reason it took so long was I made so many mistakes and had to find solutions; twice having to strip it right back and starting again. I know significantly more about spray painting as a result, though, so it was worth it.

12.01.2022 Howdy do to you, Finally Warmoth no. 3 is built and ready for action. The sound is crystal clear, full and smooth acoustically which translates beautifully through the amp. I'm calling her Tinkerbell, as she makes me think of the cartoon of the same name. Very feminine Yin and badass.

11.01.2022 Hi again. We're so lucky that Leo Fender became interested in guitar making because it turns out he invented the most easily customisable in history. Being able to unbolt a maple neck and replace it with a neck with a rosewood fingerboard on top of maple on a kitchen table is one of the many delights of the Strat.

10.01.2022 Hi all you Stratists. Here are my 2 Warmoth Strats that I've put together over the last couple of years. They've both gone through changes since I first put them together and I've learned quite a lot in the process. The birdseye maple neck on the turquoise guitar was originally on the magenta guitar and it sounds warmer and sweeter than the 1/4 sawn flame maple neck that was originally on it. The rosewood fingerboard neck that's now on the magenta guitar s...ounds warmer and smoother than the birdseye maple. Definitely serious fun and both are a treat to play, each in their own way. 10.01.2022 Howdy folks, After having taken a break from teaching guitar and singing for more than 2 years I'm keen to get back into it. I've made arrangements with Livewire Studios in Ulladulla to use a room they have available for me to teach in. So, if you or anyone you know in reasonable driving distance is looking for lessons you can follow the link below to organize some lessons. https://livewiretheatre.com//weekly-semes/private-classes/

06.01.2022 Hi, The painting of the shielding is done and the rubber damping has been laid in all the cavities in my new Warmoth. Still about 3 hrs of work ahead and it'll be ready to play.

05.01.2022 Hi ho, y'all. Sorry for not having posted for a while; I've had issues with my back on top of a very full life. Too much lugging quad boxes, W-bins and playing ridiculously heavy guitars over the years. In spite of that I've had some fun with my 2 Warmoths in that I put the original quarter sawn neck back on the teal swamp ash guitar as well as the original birds eye maple neck back onto the magenta alder guitar with the darker amber colour than it originally had. Much better!

05.01.2022 Hi y'all. I just finished working on an Indonesian made Fender Tele with a TV Jones pickup in the neck position and Seymour Duncan Strat/Tele sized humbucker in the bridge position. Quite a fine guitar that's an example of the good quality coming out of Indonesia. Good on 'em.

01.01.2022 Hi ho, Warmoth no. 2 is back together again after I redid the paint job and it's wonderful to be playing it again.
