18.01.2022 Have you heard of Mackay Rocks or maybe youve been out somewhere and found one hidden. One of these talented rock painters is a regular visitor to The Teahouse... and there are still a few left to be found. Whoever finds that tiny wee button and brings it to me will earn themselves a milkshake. Check out the Mackay Rocks Facebook page to see what its all about. #mackayrocks #letsdosomethingmackay See more

03.01.2022 #throwbackthursday Pedestrians take a stroll across the Sydney Street Bridge looking across to Cremorne, ca. 1930s. The building on the left is the Trocadero H...all, originally built as a dance hall at Far Beach, and shifted to Cremorne in 1934 when the Mackay Cycle Club was given the lease. It was a popular venue for dances, socials and wedding breakfasts. Later known as the Buffaloes' Hall, it was demolished by the flood of February, 1958. Opposite the 'Troc' (Buffaloes) was the Cremone Hotel. The original , which was of two storeys with an observation deck on the roof, was built by John Meade for J.G. Barnes in 1884. This hotel was demolished in the 1918 cyclone and its replacement (pictured) was extensively damaged in the February 1958 flood and a later cyclone. It was replaced by the Kooyong Hotel/Motel in 1963 (licence transfer). Some of the 1100 trees planed by John Greenwood Barnes remain in this 1930s picture. : Image no 5482
