Levels at Charleville may exceed the major flood level overnight tonight. Details below BALONNE AND MARANOA RIVERS 9.44pm Monday Balonne River to Surat The Balonne River at Surat is currently at 9.10 metres and steady, with major flooding. The Balonne River at Surat is expected to remain around the major flood level (9.00 m) Monday night, with renewed rises likely during Tuesday as additional upstream floodwater arrives. The Balonne River at Warroo is expected to be around the major flood level (12.00 metres) and rising during Monday evening. River level rises are expected to continue overnight and into Tuesday, with levels likely to reach at least 12.5 metres. The Balonne Shire Council says residents in the lower areas of St George are advised to prepare to evacuate as Balonne River levels are expected to reach up to 12.5m overnight Wednesday Ergon Energy is expected to disconnect customers along Albert Street once the river reaches 12m The flood level will well exceed the Andrew Nixon bridge decking height of 11m across the Jack Taylor Weir on the Balonne Highway. The Balonne Highway will be closed until water recedes to a safe level. Rural properties might be isolated as a result of the rising flood waters. Flooding is expected to reach Dirranbandi by the weekend Maranoa River The Maranoa River at Springfield is likely to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The river level is likely to fall below the major flood level by Tuesday afternoon. The Maranoa River at Woodlands is currently just above the major flood level at 7.10 metres and falling slowly. The river level is likely to remain around the major flood level (7.00 m) during Tuesday as it slowly eases. _____ WALLAM CREEK AT HOMEBOIN AND BOLLON 10.39pm A major flood peak is expected at Bollon on Wallam Creek early Tuesday afternoon. The Wallam Creek at Bollon is expected to exceed the major flood level (1.00 m) during Tuesday morning The river level is likely to peak between 1.10 and 1.40 metres by early Tuesday afternoon. This is below the major flood peak recorded in 2012. _____ WARREGO RIVER 7.46pm Monday Major flooding forecast in Charleville on Monday evening. Residents located on the Western Side of the Warrego River were asked to ensure that they have adequate provisions (food, medical etc.) and relocate to the other side of the bridge earlier today The Warrego River at Charleville is currently at 5.87 metres (moderate flood) and rising slowly. It will exceed the major flood level (6.00 m) on Monday evening. The river level is likely to peak between 6.00 and 6.30 metres overnight Monday into Tuesday, and then remain high around that level for several hours. There are numerous road closures in areas around Roma, Mitchell, and Charleville due to flood waters.
