21.01.2022 When Sunny the Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby reached 70% of her pouch life her mum began abandoning her. After observing this we decided that in order for her to survive, we would need to hand raise her. She is a little over 1kg and requires 4 milk feeds a day. She is looking much better after just a week.

19.01.2022 OPERATION ROCK WALLABY CONTINUES Chris Pryor lost her own home in the fire that raced towards the Kangaroo Valley a fortnight ago, now she is determined to pu...t all her focus into trying to support the three endangered colonies of Brush Tailed Rock wallabies in the area. Ms Pryor is the President of the local group the Friends of the Brush-tailed-Rock wallaby, who for many years have worked to support the colonies. She's desperately trying to find out more information on the impact of the fire on the wallabies and is very concerned for one colony in particular where fire swept over the habitat. There are only thought to be 30 to 40 animals across the three colonies. Special teams have walked in food and water to support the animals. Have a listen to Ms Pryor's incredible story here: You can find out more here https://www.rockwallaby.org.au/ Friends of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby

16.01.2022 Great to see that the Brush Tailed Rock Wallabies that we sent to Aussie Ark through the national breeding program partnership are succeeding in their new environment Aussie Ark

16.01.2022 This is great news.

15.01.2022 Last night we moved Cruz our Yellow-footed Rock wallaby into a new enclosure. He will be the first wallaby that you see as you enter the sanctuary gate. Cruz has a huge personality who loves to put on a show. I think he's really going to love his new enclosure @Waterfall Springs Retreat and Wildlife Sanctuary

15.01.2022 Great to hear that the food drops are still occurring in the areas where they are most needed.

14.01.2022 We are not only committed to preserving and breeding the Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby but we also rehabilitate a number of other macropod species. You can assist us by donating at www.waterfallsprings.org Thank-You!

12.01.2022 This beauty on the left is here most afternoons soaking up the sun. The guy on the right is Flynn. Just look at his beautiful brushy tail.

12.01.2022 A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep the sanctuary looking in great shape. This week it has been mowing and weeding the enclosures. As the wallabies are susceptible to stress they first need to be moved to another enclosure so the noise of the lawn mower does not stress them out. I'm sure they will be happy with their freshly moved enclosure once they return

07.01.2022 Good morning Happy Sunday beautiful people. Enjoy your day!

06.01.2022 A few months ago we were fortunate enough to have film maker Shane McLachlan visit the sanctuary for a documentary that he was creating about the devastating effects of bushfires on our wildlife entitled 'Australia Burns' The images that he captured of our rock wallabies are simply stunning and too good not to share with you. Enjoy! #rockwallabies #Australianwildlife #endangeredspecies #wildlife #conservation #Australia #wildlifephotography
