Tasmanian Grace Tame, 26, took out Australian of the Year for her... extraordinary courage and for using her voice to raise public awareness about the effects of sexual violence. Dr Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr Baumann, 73, was named Senior Australian of the Year, Isobel Marshall, 22, Young Australian of the Year and Rosemary Kariuki, 60, won Australia's local hero award. Locally we support Women’s Refuges/Safe Houses, campaign to end violence, provide education awards, sew and distribute Zonta Breast Cushions, and other projects which make a real difference to women’s lives.
