17.01.2022 Wow it was good to be back after an 8.5 month pause and to see so many happy smiling people enjoying a walk, jog or run along our beautiful warm and sunny bayside paths! Thank you to all those who expressed their gratitude to me at the restart of parkrun and I would like to add a big thank you from Roisin and me to all the vollies, and to all who who finished a parkrun today, and of course to the backroom staff at parkrun HQ whose work over the last months and weeks made it p...ossible. In Wynnum we were blessed by 12 volunteers who made parkrun happen here this week: Alan BURRELL Roisin BURRELL Peter CUMMING Michelle STEINDL Caroline FOGG Amanda-Jean KIRCHNER Geraldine (Ged) BANFIELD Derek GREENOUGH Kate ZOCCHI Blas MARTINEZ Paul SHEATHER Mark DIXON. Many more who have signed up for future weeks will find the few little changes with scanners, timers and less kit have made the volly roles easier :) So if you have not volunteered parkrun before, or for a while, or find the heat of summer running a little difficult then get in touch and we'll try and fit you into a role and date that suits. Congrats to first male today, Geoff Waldock who finished first in 16:46 and also got highest age grade with 84.59%, and first female Liz Grolimund who finished in 20:44. It was a mighty hot day to be running those times so well done. Congratulations and today special commendation for patience and perseverance to Mary Blowers who finished her much delayed 250th parkrun today. Mary tells me she has been out running along the foreshore every Saturday whilst we were paused for covid :) Also a big welcome to 15 first timers and 6 tourists (from NSW and Main Beach) who attended today. We have over 400 wonderful photos to upload from Blas, but Facebook is not co-operating with the uploads so I will try a later tonight when things quieten down. Bear with us on that it will be worth waiting for. Our results were processed extra speedily today, so you should all have results emails by now. 12.01.2022 Congratulations to the 154 Parkrunners who completed the 5K Wynnum course today. First across the finish was Peter Bracken with an awesome time of 16:34; and first female was Sam Pavish, a first timer at Wynnum with a time of 19:38. We also had 13 PB’s today so well done to you guys. Congratulations also to Rebecca Johnston who reach the 50 run milestone. A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers: Allana BIANCHI, Amanda KIRCHNER, Derek GREENOUGH, Desley COLLINS, Dougla...s KLITSCHER, Isobel WAGENSVELD, Judith KLITSCHER, Kate ZOCCHI, Ksenia WAGENSVELD, Michelle FORTH, Russell DAY, Sue LOCHRAN and Wendy PEARCE.
