25.01.2022 Stage 2 and 3 were first on the field today, parading their amazing book character costumes.

21.01.2022 Dear parents and carers, just in case some Year 5 students were absent yesterday, we would like to make you aware of a letter that was given to Year 5 students: WYRALLAH ROAD PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPTAINS AND VICE-CAPTAINS 2021 Dear Year 5 students and families We are commencing the process of nominating and voting for who will be appointed to the prestigious posts of School Captain and Vice-Captain for 2021 at our school.... Stage 1: Year 5 students self-nominate by returning the slip below to Mr Wheeler by midday on Thursday this week (19 November). Stage 2: All Year 5 students vote for their first three (3) preferred girl and boy candidates. 17.01.2022 Today we had the pleasure of meeting some of next year's Kindergarten students during their first orientation - their first step towards their primary school journey.

12.01.2022 It was a warm day, but that didn't stop Kindergarten and Stage 1 smiling, singing and dancing their way around the oval at today's Book Character Parade.

12.01.2022 WRPS staff looked 'wonderful' at today's Book Parade, dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland.

11.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC activities, students in Year 1 replicated a game once played by Indigenous children from the Northern Rivers and South Queensland region. Juluhya (ju-lu-hy-a means 'to go down' in Bundjalung language). Students made tubes that resembled rolled up bark, placed a ball down the tube and waited for it to appear at the other end. This game was repeated in a relay style challenge which was lots of fun!

10.01.2022 Sun Safety Winners Did you know that Australia is the sun cancer capital of the world and northern NSW has one of the highest rates in Australia? As a result, the NSW Cancer Institute ran a competition for students to draw their dream sun safe playground. Students could work individually or in a small group and were judged on several aspects including, natural and built sun safety aspects, playground equipment and accessibility, aesthetics. Year 3, WRPS students, Sienna M, O...livia and Sienna C are the junior primary winners of the Cancer Institute NSW’s Sun and UV at School Challenge! They will share gift cards to the value of $500 and WRPS won $2,000 to purchase classroom resources which furthers our students’ learning. Well done girls!!! 05.01.2022 Stage 2 students were involved in putting together a submission for the 'what'll happen to the wattle' program. The group met with Mr Lane at lunchtime in the library. There was so much interest from students that the playground was bare of students! A random selection of four students then put together a video submission and we were accepted!
