20.01.2022 Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The push behind this day is to encourage our girls to overcome gender stereotypes and leap into the fields of science and research. How can we encourage girls to pursue Science? ... 1. Create projects based on interests - present them with science projects based on their interest. 2. Introduce female math and science role models - Introducing a positive role model of the same gender to young girls can keep them interested and have a lifelong impact on their career paths. 3. Emphasise the positives - Parents and educators should encourage girls to defy the stereotypes that math and science are only for boys. Like any subject, if girls are struggling in math and science, teachers should help them work through their struggles. This can mean playing an active role in helping them better understand these subjects. Just because a female student finds the subjects difficult is not a reason to move away from the field entirely. 4. Explore career options early - if career interests are cultivated early, students can better prepare for them by taking classes they might have avoided otherwise. #childcarewyreema #childcaretoowoomba #childcaredarlingdowns #kindywyreema #kindytoowoomba #kindydarlingdowns #childcentrededucation #earlyeducationwyreema #earlyeducationtoowoomba #earlyeducationdarlingdowns
