25.01.2022 Importance of Hand Washing: To see how important it is to wash our hands we performed an experiment where we could physically see what we would ingest if we did not wash our hands properly. We had 4 pieces of bread, we then chose 4 of our friends to help out. Our first piece of bread was non washed hands, second was hands washed just with water, third was washed with water and soap and last was hands washed with soap, water and wiped dry with a paper towel. We will see over t...he next week which piece of bread will have the least amount of mold. Sneeze You: We followed on with an experiment on how far germs would spread if we sneezed without cover our nose and mouth. For this we used ripped up pieces of paper to which Miss Leesa sneezed in front of with her nose and mouth uncovered, the paper spread everywhere. We gathered the paper and this time Miss Leesa sneezed with her nose and mouth covered and none of the paper moved. With the measurement we took of the furthest piece of paper that flew with the uncovered sneeze, we measured it up against two of our friends. Fighting Germs: For this experiment we had some full cream milk which represented our hands with some drops of food colouring added to it which represented the germs. Miss Leesa then added the washing detergent which was the soap and we saw something amazing! The colours ran away from the detergent, just like soap would do to germs! 20.01.2022 We've noticed lately Miss Leesa and Miss Jess wearing some funky sticker like decorations on their nails and asked how they put them on. So our Educators decided to bring in one of their manicure kits and give us a demonstration on how they were applied. This led onto the extension of hygiene experiments the following week.

16.01.2022 Twitch is the Worrywoo monster of frustration. We have introduced Twitch during circle time where we share our feelings while feeling supported and accepted.

14.01.2022 During Bullying No Way week we decided to introduce the Bucket Filler philosophy where it explained that everyone carries and invisible bucket and our behavior can either cause our buckets to be full or empty. This is called being either a Bucket Filler or Bucket Dipper. We are all striving to be Bucket Fillers in OSHC. This will continue all year.

06.01.2022 As our friends were preparing for ANZAC Day we decided to bake some ANZAC biccies, YUMMO!!!! We also even got a chance to play photographer today as Miss Leesa helped with the cooking.

05.01.2022 As we have ben really interested in puzzles and games, Miss Leesa and Miss Jess suggested that we create our Identity display using pieces of puzzles that fit together to create one big puzzle. We are almost complete!

04.01.2022 On the last day of term 1 we decided to end the term with a bang! First of all we had an Easter egg hunt where we had to read the directions to find the eggs. We extended on this with a game of Bunny Where's Your Egg which was suggested by one of our friends. Next we noticed we had a few eggs left over in our fridge we had to use so we decided to have an egg and spoon race. We were great at this and all the eggs survived. So we went on to do some science investigation on the force and weight on the eggs, this was very messy! Last but not least we decorated some biscuits as colourful Easter eggs with some icing. As we were doing this, the sneaky Easter bunny had snuck in and left us some eggs! How exciting! This was our chance to put our cognitive skills to work as we evenly sorted the eggs out between us. HAPPY EASTER!
