23.01.2022 Our thoroughbred stud in the Margaret River region, close to wineries and world famous beaches, seek an experienced, mature person to work with our small team of dedicated, loyal, long term staff. We are looking for a conscientious, hard working person who enjoys variety but is prepared to embrace the equally shared farm duties from mixing feeds to preparing yearlings even the odd bit of sheep work! As breeders we also agist, race and educate horses on farm so if you are ...an experienced rider that would be beneficial but not essential. We also stand a couple of stallions. Previous experience with foalings and an interest in occasionally attending the night time foaling alarm would be very helpful. You will be required to work just one weekend in three and there is limited accommodation on farm but plenty of rental opportunities exist 15-20 mins from farm. Our ideal candidate will be competent handling horses of all ages from foals to mares and agisting racehorses. This person will be a cheerful, easy going person happy to work within a close team. They will also be happy to work with our strict safe horse handling procedures and methods. A current drivers licence is essential. Above award renumeration to be discussed according to age, experience etc. An interest in racing would place you perfectly in our enthusiastic team. 23.01.2022 Handsome Bo Bo (Helmet-Sadler's Girl)... wins impressively at Sha Tin on Sunday, his second win this prep in a strong field. Bred by Oakland Park, this yearling colt was sold at Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale in 2016 under the Bluegum Farm banner and later resold through a Ready To Run sale in New Zealand to Hong Kong. Looks to be an exciting prospect. For Oakland Park a very good 2016 draft of Ducimus, Jukebox, Handsome Bo Bo and Fantastic Show. 4 winners from 4 starters - two Stakes winners and two class Hong Kong winners!

20.01.2022 Not only is Sessions with his first season of 3yr old runners compared to all other WA sires in their first 3yr old season the best sire in 15 years, he has outpaced the stats of Playing God's first 3 yr old crop - each with less than 30 runners - by a whopping 75%!! Today the TBWA released stats stating that Sessions is the second best 2nd season sire in earnings on record in WA. Reason to be excited!

16.01.2022 Another wonderful day for Oakland Park Stud yesterday: Roganella (Rogano/Zanella) pleased with a come from behind win in a very strong field carrying 59.5kg in the Lavazza Plate over 1400m, beating Media Baron and State Prosecutor. Ridden a treat by Jarrod Noske, Roganella's final 600mt in 34.1 on soft ground was blistering. Roganella will go forward to the Guineas in two weeks. And further afield in South Africa, Firdoas from the mare Anwar purchased by OPS at the recent Inglis Broodmare sale in Sydney, won a 1400m Stakes race. Another OPS graduate Derupt (Snitzel/ Ready On Time) ran on from near last in the same race to finish in fourth place.

04.01.2022 Catherine Wheel (Rogano-Paris Cracker), ridden perfectly by Daniel Staek burned off the field to win on debut in the 1000mt Pinjarra Resort Maiden by over 4 lengths with a final 600mt of 33.04! Good effort by Karen Kersley and all at Kersley Racing. Congrats also to Namerick Farm on the win of the second Rogano yesterday, the 3yr old filly Sophie's Song in the 1300mt Coral Bay Handicap by 3 lengths eased down.

04.01.2022 Ihtsahymn ... Congratulations to our long time owner Reg Webb on the wonderful win of Ihtsahymn today carrying 60.5kg in the Darwin Cup. Ridden to victory by Peter Hall for Rob Gulberti, Ihtsahymn, a son of Ihtiram out of our great mare Umatune, made us all at Oakland Park so very proud today. Ihtsahymn won on three occasions as a two year old and now at nine has amassed over $1.5 million. Amazing to know we have produced another champion horse from Oakland Park Stud and the first West Australian winner of the Darwin Cup.

03.01.2022 Our filly, Beauty World by Sepoy sold today for $400,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. Bought by Belmont Bloodstock for Mr John Muir of Milburn Creek in NSW.
