23.01.2022 Y2 is pleased to announce their current collaboration with the Newbury Buddhist Monastery and their spiritual adviser Ajahn Brahm the internationally renowned meditation master and mindfulness teacher, to create a new Meditation Centre in the picturesque and tranquil landscape of the Wombat State Forest in Newbury Victoria. The facility will include a Meditation Hall, Dining Hall & Kitchen and Cottages for lay retreatants. Owned and operated by the Buddhist Society of Vict...oria, the centre will also be used for community services by facilitating care through mindfulness based practices to people dealing with stress, addiction and anxiety. Set in a rural area of natural beauty, the designs are sensitive to the pristine forested natural environment and work toward supporting spiritual activities taking place on site whilst reflecting the simplicity of monastic life. Following the Buddhist principle of Peace comes from within. , buildings are organised around a strong spiritual axis of progression from mundane to spiritual Entry Foyer Dining Hall - Stupa Courtyard and through to the Meditation Hall. The cottages are placed around a series of courtyards connected by landscaped gardens and colonnaded walkways. They also serve as tranquil contemplative spaces and pathways for walking meditation. The walkways connecting various courtyards frame views of the internal gardens and the surrounding countryside. 16.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce St Peter's College Cranbourne Arts Precinct has been shortlisted in the 2020 Learning Environments Victoria Awards under category 5: Renovation/Modernisation. Critical aspirations from St Peter’s Arts learning advisor, Pamela Fox: The Arts Precinct Spaces will focus on: how we can build skills through scaffolding within the space cross-curricular use of the space The project required a responsive solution that encourages flow and connectedness. It enables flexibility while also providing practical/activity-specific resources that support learners and educators.
