12.01.2022 Heads up: The date and topic for the Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF) 2020 have CHANGED. New date: Friday 30 October. New topic: Building a Better Tasmania for Young... People. Why the change? Simple. You told us you wanted to talk about how we can build a better Tasmania after COVID-19. So we made it happen, FOR YOU. The new date gives you extra time to ensure you can be part of this free online event. COVID-19 means life is hard for young people right now. But young people also have HOPE and want to help in the recovery from the pandemic. Young people want to be a part of the solution. So thats what well do at the TYF: Talk about how to build a better Tasmania after COVID through education and training, work, mental health and whatever else young people think is important! Then well give YOUR IDEAS to Government people and key decision makers, so they know how to create a healthier and better future after COVID-19, for young people and everyone else. TYF 2020 is a free, statewide online event for all young Tasmanians aged 12-25 years. REGISTRATIONS OPENING SOON Keep an eye on the YNOT Facebook page and YNOT website for more details! Email us with any questions: [email protected]. #TYF2020 #youngpeople https://www.ynot.org.au/tasmanian-youth-forum-2020

05.01.2022 eSafety is aware of distressing reports about a suicide video circulating on social media. Weve contacted the social media platforms and are working together t...o monitor the situation. Please follow our advice below. * If you see this video online report it to the social media platform its on, or to eSafety at www.esafety.gov.au/report/illegal-harmful-content. * We encourage parents, carers and educators to avoid raising the issue of the video directly with young people who may not have heard or been exposed to it. Instead, we encourage proactive conversations with children about distressing content they may come across online, letting them know they can come to you or another trusted adult if they feel upset or uncomfortable by it. * Monitor young people who are more vulnerable and at-risk. If a young person is presenting with signs of distress, schools should follow their own procedures for managing and supporting students at risk. * If a life is in danger call Triple Zero (000) right now. * Anyone who may be at risk or experiencing emotional distress, including worried family and friends, to contact one of the following services: Kids Helpline Official 1800 55 1800. https://kidshelpline.com.au/ Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467. https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/ headspace 1800 650 890. https://headspace.org.au/ Lifeline 13 11 14. https://www.lifeline.org.au/ Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/
