16.01.2022 On Sunday 24/5/2020, the Vic gov announced that the indoor sport clubs maybe allowed to open from 22/6/20. The club committee is currently planing on how to reopen the club to meet the health and safety reqts from the vic gov/council. In order to meet the social distancing reqts ( limiting number of people inside at one time ), we are thinking of introducing a booking system. If any of you has any suggestion please provide comment. Some of the challenges are : the club is op...ened by different volunteers; we don't have a computer system nor a full-time staff to take phone booking . We are also looking for any club member who is willing to assist with opening the club when the club is allowed to reopen by the gov. Regards Minh Tran

15.01.2022 Hi all members, Due to the current high infection rate in our city, for the health and safety of all our members, our club committee and volunteer openers have decided to postpone the re - opening of our club until further notice. Therefore our club will not reopen on Monday 6/7/2020 as planned. We hope this is just a temporary setback and we will be able to reopen our club again in the not so far future.... Regards Minh

14.01.2022 Hi all, Below is our club new opening time table when we reopen on Monday 7th of Dec 2020 ( 7/12/2020). ( note : Due to COVID restrictions, the club will open only to existing members for now. We will review the policy next year.)... Regards Minh Tran

06.01.2022 Hi all members, Below is the email from the Yarra Council wrt our request to confirm the reopening date for our club. In summary , we will not be able to reopen on 23rd Nov even if the Vic Gov allows us . Regards... Minh Tran " Yara Council cannot confirm a return to play date for Yarra Table Tennis Club. As it currently stands, indoor community sport is still not allowed for people over 18 years of age. It is expected that restrictions will ease after Premier announcements scheduled on 22 November. Please understand that any easing of restrictions on this date does not mean the club will be able to restart on 23 November. There is likely to be a delay up to two weeks between any announcements and a reopening of indoor community sport. Once new directives are announced we have to await updates from DHHS, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Coronavirus Industry Guidelines and Table Tennis Victoria. Once all of these avenues have been updated we need to integrate any advice into Yarra’s Return to Play Conditions of Hire and clubs are required to submit an updated Return to Play Plan. Given the process involved, it is likely that Yarra Table Tennis Club should not plan on reopening until sometime in early December (also dependent on future State Government directions).

06.01.2022 Hi all members, 1. I’d like to let you know that our club will reopen from Monday 7th Dec 2020. 2. Please note due to the current COVID restrictions ( only 20 people are allowed indoor ), the club will only open to existing members. There are also certain playing rules would be applied ( we will let you know what they are soon ) 3. Due to limited available resources, for the remaining of this year ( until further notice), the club will only open at certain sessions . Pleas...e check the club FB page before you come as those opening sessions mentioned below would be changed at short notice (because we are relied on certain volunteer members to assist with opening the club) For now, all the daytime sessions are opened as before ( Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri from 10am to 1pm ) ; weekend sessions ( Sat, Sun ) are only opened from 1pm to 4pm; night sessions are only opened on Wed and Thur ( 8pm to 10:30pm). 4. Due to extended lockdown this year from the vic gov, the club committee has decided to refund all membership fee this year to members. Please contact Mr Tim Ngo ( our club treasurer ) for your refund. Regards MinhTran

04.01.2022 Dear members, I hope you are all well Following are a few updates that I’d like to share with you:... 1. Club reopening : Unlike other private run clubs, our club facility is belonged to the local Council. There are certain rules and requirements our club must meet in order for the council letting us to reopen. We are hoping that our club would be allowed to reopen in a next few weeks ( early Dec ). Please check this page for any new update. 2. Refund this year ( 2020) membership fee to members: Due to Covid Restrictions imposed by the VIC state gov , our club has been closed mostly this year. Hence, the club committee has decided to refund this year membership fee to all our members. When the club reopens, please see Tim ( our club Treasurer, the handsome man wearing glasses) he will refund your membership money. 3. Affiliation of Table Tennis Vic ( TTV) requirement from Yarra Council in 2021 : one of the conditions of rehiring the hall from the council in 2021 is that they require our club to become an affiliate with TTV in 2021. Unfortunately it means all members will have to pay an additional $35 TTV social membership fee unless you are already registered with TTV via another club. I know it is an extra burden for some but nothing the committee can do to reverse their decision. Regards Minh Tran

03.01.2022 Hi all members, Below is The Acknowledgement form that we will want all members to sign when you come to the club to play. It describes what you need to follow to meet health and safety requirements from the Council during the COVID-19 pandemic period. This form may need to update to reflect any future easing or tighten restrictions from the government. Minh Tran

01.01.2022 YARRA TABLE TENNIS CLUB CLOSURE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC To All Members,... Given the rapidly evolving situation with the COVID-19, the fact that many of our players are elderly, and that we can't avoid the shared handling of balls and other equipment, the committee has decided to close the Yarra Table Tennis club from Monday 16th of Mar 2020 until at least 12th April 2020. Our club closure is in line with many other table tennis clubs around Melbourne, to ensure the wellbeing of our members and the community in general. As this heath crisis keeps evolving daily, our club re opening date may have to modify again in the future, please visit our Club Facebook homepage or contact us via the email address [email protected] for any update. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time. . Yarra Table Tennis Club Committee 15/03/2020
