21.01.2022 - : Bowls Victoria has made the tough decision to , next week ...and next month’s State Championships. We understand some will be disappointed and some will be relieved by this decision. Earlier in June, we surveyed participating clubs and as a result the decision was made to proceed with Divisional matches, however, given the rapidly changing situation, circumstances have now changed. We have also received concerns from Clubs, Members and their families regarding playing in hotspot areas and players from hotspot areas visiting other clubs. With increased cases of COVID-19 in hotspot areas across the last 48 hours, Bowls Victoria must consider player welfare and our duty of care for members playing in BV events. : bit.ly/2Z7c0o2 Clubs are still open, with Social Bowls and Practice/Roll Ups able to take place under our current : bit.ly/2YwuKy3

15.01.2022 Day 2 of the State Champions week for Yarra saw our Rosanna Men win silver in a close game against Central Goulburn Murray team of John Dagger, Wayne Dagger, Col Power and Brad Orr. Congratulations Barry Ferguson, John Head, Damian Jardine and Aaron Van Haaften! (16-18) Our Over 60s Men pairs team of John Leitch and Scott Wellington progress to today’s semi finals having won against Eastern Ranges pair John Snell and Neville Brown (14-9) whilst our Over 60s Women’s pair of De...anne Smith and Alison Hall made it through to the quarter final, narrowly being beaten by a 3 shot margin against Central Victoria (11-14). Congratulations also to Brad Marron who has just joined Yarra this season. Alongside his pairs partner Lee Schraner he took out the gold medal in the men’s pairs for Bendigo Campaspe. We are delighted to have you in our region Brad! Today sees play for Yarra kick off at 9am with the men’s and women’s triples teams of Damon Di Florio, Ben Hubber and Josh Corless and Jodie Jones, Tris Doolan and Anne Draffen playing the round of last 16. Later at 12pm Tris (MCC) will be playing the round of last 16 of the Women’s Champion of Champions (CoC) whilst Dean O’Neill (Bundoora RSL) battles it out for the men. Also at that time we will have the Over 60s Men team play their semi final. Good luck and good bowling to all!!
