21.01.2022 How to reduce injury???? Here is a good short video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNKpPsB9uFw... Some points well said in the video: "Practice makes Permanence." Quality of practice shot is more important than quantity. Practice a lot (ie quantity focus) does not make perfect unless you have the right technique! Moreover, it may entrench suboptimal technique. Injury prevention regime should cover : strengthening exercise, stretch for range, movement to improve neuromuscular control of body***, warm up/down, optimal recovery plan###. ***Warm up your brain is also important. ### Injury prevent plan covers a period well before and well after a training session. What do you think? Your comment is welcome.

21.01.2022 Our December Club Shoot was very well subscribed with 10 archers competing in the handicap and 3 in the scratch. The weather was perfect for Archery, 25C and light winds so we had some very big scores posted. Congrats to Luke and Bill on their wins this month.

21.01.2022 The post yesterday mentioned warm-up. Here is an interesting and short video specifically about warm-up. Again there are some good points about warm up that are easy to overlook. Not only that warm-up helps to get our body temperature up, increase flexibility, and raise oxygen flow to muscle, it helps to get our state of mind ready to perform what is required. The video also reinforce the point made in the injury reduction video (posted earlier) about the importance of neu...romuscular system conditioning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7BeXoBIH0g Any comment on the video?

19.01.2022 Park and Ride is coming to Bulleen Park. Looks like Bulleen Road will get busier, and hopefully get improved so that we don't get stuck in traffic jam when leaving the park. https://northeastlink.vic.gov.au/news/bulleen-park-and-ride

19.01.2022 Final call..... The Manningham Council and Bendigo Bank subsidy for club memberships for 5 - 18 Year olds is still open for application UNTIL TOMORROW. Follow the link below to see more, if interested:... https://enews.manningham.vic.gov.au//5F75C1EAFE3FFBCC46B62

17.01.2022 Check list of your archery equipment?? It is really annoying to arrive at the club and then realise that some gear is left at home. This is more likely after a long Covid break. So I tried to jot down the essential items. It is longer than I imagined but I still have some nagging doubt about its completeness. Any suggestion? bow, arrows, release aid, finger tab, ... finger sling, arrow puller, arm guard, chest guard, stabilisers, bow stand, telescope, sight, notebook for various information such as sight setting, allen keys, pen & scoresheet, bow stringer, bow square, plunger, water, hat, ... 13.01.2022 November club shòot...a bit windy but still a good day..

05.01.2022 Good news... Club membership is extended 5 months for free. From Archery Victoria Annual Report:

04.01.2022 At the recent Archery Victoria State Target Championships at Angel Archers Chris Wood, Peter Missen & Duncan Joiner all competed. Chris won the Gold in the Male Veterans Compound division whilst Peter came in third. Here's president Zoran Radicic presenting Peter with his bronze medallion at the Club shoot.

03.01.2022 A few regulars shooting today. The wind started out challenging and headed towards unplayable.. we shot the fita 60/1440. Peter M shot a perfect at 50. Ok the top one is iffy but Stuart gave him benefit of the doubt..

03.01.2022 Club Recorder at point of release. See the arrow?

02.01.2022 Here's some more photos from our family day. Great venue, great people, great sport.

01.01.2022 Our family day turned out well. A few keener members arrived early and shot a FITA 50/720. Then we had a come and try for the littlies, and some of the not so little. After a while we all got hungry! Thanks to Zoran for organising and to Jim, Athena, Biliana (I hope I got that right), Bernice, Tania and anyone else who helped with the food.
