07.01.2022 This Spotted green emerald tree frog, or Peron's Tree Frog (Litoria peronii) was hanging out on the Lakes Floating Jetty. Just one of six identified frog species here at the Retreat who chorus happily in natures soundtrack. The others are: Spotted Marsh/Grass Frog (Limnodynastes tasmaniensis); Eastern Banjo Frog Pobblebonk (Limnodynastes dumerilii); Eastern Common Froglet (Crinia signifera); Victorian Tree Frog (Litoria paraewingii); Eastern Sign-bearing Frog (Crinia parinsignifera). There could be other species we haven’t identified yet, so if you’re into frogs, come & check them out!

05.01.2022 Moon Bathing is not just for the birds! Whether for romance, moon bathing, photography or sheer joy, the moon rise over our lake will leave you beaming. For humans, the moon has a cooling, soothing and calming effect on the mind and body. Moonlight provides the body with Vitamin D, mood-boosting endorphins, and nitric oxide that can help lower blood pressure. Moonlight is a combination of starlight, sun light and earth light.
