22.01.2022 Many people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts communicate distress through their words or actions, but these warning signs may be missed or misinterpreted.... By building a network of appropriately trained gatekeepers in our community we can strengthen our local safety net The Murrumbidgee Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Initiative and Latrobe Valley and Bass Coast Suicide Prevention - Community Training aims to increase the number of people who have suicide prevention skills that enables them to immediately support, respond to and refer people experiencing suicidal crisis to appropriate, professional support. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) we're not running any face-to-face training at the moment. Instead we're running training online. All training is available free of charge. 14.01.2022 We have endured many changes and challenges recently and it’s only natural that you may be feeling stressed out or anxious because of this. Even as we start to ...slowly return to our regular way of living, working and interacting, this can also feel a bit overwhelming. We all cope differently during stressful times, but it’s important to always choose kindness, compassion and respect for yourself and for others. When managing change, consider turning to healthy strategies. It’s also important to remember that you don’t have to experience all this on your own. Many of your local services are open and ready to support you during this time. 02.01.2022 What is the WISE mentoring program? For Mentees: This is an opportunity for you to have a dedicated supporter to help you achieve a personal or professional goa...l. Someone to connect with and learn from - who has your back, all the way. For Mentors: This is a chance for you to share your knowledge and skills to provide advice, encouragement and feedback to someone who can really use your help.
