20.01.2022 Qantas passengers will be left to fend for themselves when it comes to flight cancellations and last-minute booking changes with the Flying Kangaroo set to close its service and sales desks at all airports and lounges. Passengers will instead have to rely on self-service kiosks or phone through to the airline’s call centre. The airline will still maintain staffed check-in desks, but lost luggage counter service will also have hours slashed.... The airline is blaming COVID-19 cost-cutting, and changes to the way people travel for the change to a self-managed system. The cuts are expected to affect around 100 workers.
