23.01.2022 TIGHTER BORDER RESTRICTIONS BEGIN AT MIDNIGHT. The NSW Government has established a strict new border zone, tightened permit conditions and stronger enforcement... powers to further restrict entry to NSW for Victorians. From midnight tonight - Tuesday 21 July - a border zone, defined along the Murray River, will be established. Entry to NSW from Victoria will be restricted - any permits issued up until the commencement of the new border zone will expire and you will need to apply for a new permit. Border zone residents with a permit will only be able to cross the NSW-Victorian border zone to: 1. Go to work; 2. Attend an education institution if they can’t work or learn from home; or 3. Obtain medical care, supplies or health services. All NSW residents are strongly urged not to travel to Victoria. NSW residents who travel beyond the border zone into Victoria will need to self-isolate upon return for 14 days.
