20.01.2022 Please be advised practice set down for 1pm this Saturday 15 February has been cancelled. See you all Sunday for our competition shoot.

16.01.2022 Sunday at Yass Clay Target Club turned out to be a day of achievement for many established shooters as well as some up and coming shooters. 8 squads in total contested the three-event programme which included our first memorial shoot for the year, the Leigh Pateman Handicap Shield. Regular visiting shooter Jason Winters from Majura Park shot the perfect 25/25 from 24 meters to take out first place in the handicap. The win sees Jason promoted to the back mark of 25 metres for ...all his future handicap events as well as his name added to the Leigh Pateman Shield. Jason capped off a great day by outlasting Craig Bishop and Giulio Serafin in the High Gun shoot-off. Despite only a hint of red on the scoreboard, the following efforts of note were also achieved on the day: Kim Turner 50 Double Barrel Break Badge (first ever) Kate Thistleton 25/25 Single Barrel score (first ever) Tom Sharman 23/25 Single barrel (first ever Grade win) Dave Caccioppoli 150/150 Point Score Nicole Crisp 32/33 Handicap Peter Southwell 25/25 Single Barrel 15 March will be our next monthly competition and up for grabs on that day will be a NSWCTA Southern Zone Champion of Champions title and sash for the winner of the event. This is always a hotly contested event, so we hope to see plenty of folk show up and have a crack at winning it for 2020.

12.01.2022 It’s fair to say that shooting from the 18m mark at Sunday’s Southern Zone Champion of Champions event proved a lot harder than it sounded. Yes, there was a dicey breeze at times but that said, not a single shooter managed a 25/25 in any capacity under bright clear conditions during the first event. It wasn’t until late in the day, from the 15m mark under semi-overcast conditions did a red mark appear on the scoreboard. The effort of Matty Patmore in the Single Barrel Cash Tr...ophy event turned out to be the only perfect event score of the whole day. Matty’s effort was a single target better than seven other shooters who finished with single barrel scores of 24/25. It was pleasing to meet and greet some new shooters on the day and particularly pleasing to welcome back Jenny Twarloh to the fold after a recent spell from the lanes. Jenny shot well upon her return and as she normally does, went home from Yass with a prize and a raffle win. Her husband, not so lucky! Many thanks to everyone who helped on the day and for all the visiting shooters who continue to support our club. Our next competition shoot involves some Double Barrel Continental, Double Rise and Dopey Doubles action so please keep that in mind and hopefully we’ll see you all return in April.

11.01.2022 All shooters at Yass Clay Target Club this Sunday the 15th of March will be in the running to take home a 2020 Southern Zone Champion of Champions title and sash. Competition starts at 10am sharp. Looks like the temperature will be ideal so we hope to see you there. Yass members are reminded that at the conclusion of the competition and presentation ceremony, a general meeting will be held on the club grounds.
