23.01.2022 Dear all, Unfortunately due to the rapidly changing Coronavirus situation it has been decided to cease playing our Monday ladies tennis for the foreseeable future. Effective immediately. The Tennis Vic guidelines , the social distancing and today the restrictions on non essential travel really make it unrealistic & unsafe to continue. The health of all our players, families and our communities is paramount. Linda - Im not sure how you log this into the scores but could you ...have a look and see what you can do. There will be no more matches played until further notice. I apologise for the short notice for tomorrow but we were hoping to get one last match in before reassessing but events have overtaken us. We plan to try and reconvene for the AGM in June but I will let everyone know about this. Any queries please contact Mandie or myself. 18.01.2022 Hi everyone, You may be aware Yea Tennis Club have a few new Committee members this year. Vicky Ingham is the President, Cobie Morris Vice President, David Stares has remained as Treasurer and Sally Wilson is Secretary. Please feel free to contact any of us at [email protected] or call Sally on 0412 075 774. Any feedback or issues to raise at meetings will be more than welcome. The Committee are looking at ways to grow as a Club. We are cognisant of the rising costs... of keeping a Club such as ours viable. We are planning more social functions and are looking at ways of increasing our membership base, especially our Juniors. We have a working bee scheduled for this Sunday, 18th August at 4pm. Jobs will include spraying the courts and picking up the autumn leaves. Any available members are most welcome to come along and help out and stay for an early dinner (put on by the Committee) after completion. Please let me know if you are able to attend. At the last meeting the Committee voted to have one working bee per term (not including the Easter Tournament working bees). This is primarily due to the high cost of paying for contractors and to minimise ongoing costs to the Club. There will be 3 working bees per year. To spread the workload, we are hopeful members (or their parents) will be able to attend working bees. For those unable to attend any working bees, a fee of $20 per member, per year was set. We thank Ross, Russell and David for all their hard work and dedication in their roles on the previous Committee. We look forward to the continuing success of the Yea Tennis Club.
