19.01.2022 Where do you start? Planning is the ultimate solution. Most people prefer not to plan. They only worry about disasters after they happen!! The fact that you are reading this means you have already decided to be a step ahead of those people. To make this happen, you need to have a plan. A plan means we have a destination or goal to head toward. A plan means we have some idea of the level of achievement we want and we can measure of how successful we have been. A plan gives...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Where do you find the money? Budgeting The central plan that all families have is their budget. EVERYONE has a budget. Even if it is ‘just in your head’ there is a basic calculation of how much money is coming in and what commitments or spending are essential, allowed, or just desired. For all of us there is a priority about our spending and even people who tell us they never budget, have a good idea of the limits to their income and what their compulsory and basic spending i...tems are. If this is not true then you are very wealthy or plummeting into bankruptcy!! Establishing a simple basic budget can show you some truths about your spending and money habits not always good truths, but not always bad truths either. Within an hour, most families can sort out their normal incomes and normal expenditures on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. This quickly identifies whatever ‘spare’ income they have and usually this helps identify where they are wasting or losing money. If their plans and goals are important enough, they can choose to start managing their funds differently and diverting funds to more profitable and valued purposes. This is not a hard thing and in fact, the answers become obvious when the numbers are written down. You can use a sheet of paper and a pen or download and utilise one of dozens of computer based budget programs that are usually available for no cost. Once you have established the budget you need to review your actual spending results each month and pay attention to the areas where you have over-spent or under-spent. When you begin to measure these variations, you will find your behavior and spending habits start to change because you are trying to affect a different result in your monthly budget review. 18.01.2022 The basic facts about paying off a loan more money - more often. There is a simple inescapable fact about paying off a home loan or any other loan. There is no magic system to make a debt go away we just have to manage the payments as well and efficiently as possible and pay back the amount borrowed. When a bank or lender establishes a loan for a borrower, it is typically set up over a 30 year period. The lender will calculate a standard monthly payment (based on the cur...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Latest NEWS. Yellow Brick Road has announced that our YBR loans are reducing by a full 0.25%. Showing the banks the way!!

08.01.2022 YELLOW BRICK ROAD DEMOLISHES THE DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD BY DELIVERING A FULL RATE CUT TO HOME LOAN CUSTOMERS AND A HIGHER RATE OF RETURN TO SAVERS MEDIA RELEASE ... 5 December 2012 Yellow Brick Road has announced today that it will pass on the full .25 per cent reduction in the official cash rate to its Empower home loan customers. The rate reduction will put the Empower home loan range’s variable rate at 5.25 per cent p.a. for the first year and as low as 5.54 per cent p.a. over the life of the loan. We negotiated hard for this .25 per cent rate reduction because we believe our clients deserve it and we want to help them enjoy their holiday season, even if that means that we have to eat some of our margin, says Mark Bouris. We hoped the major banks would do the same for their customers, but with NAB, CBA and Westpac only going .20 per cent, consumers aren’t feeling the confidence that our economy desperately needs right now. Whilst Yellow Brick Road Empower customers will receive the full .25 per cent rate cut, the company is determined to do right by its clients who are savers. Yellow Brick Road’s Smarter Money fund has a net return of 7.7 per cent p.a. since its inception in February 2012 and has delivered steadily higher returns over the past 10 months. For us, this is not just about home loans; it’s about planning for the future. A major goal for us is to ensure that our customers are getting the best deal on their home loan so they can put more into their retirement savings. We haven’t had to slash the rates on our savings solutions because we’ve been preparing for these rate cuts and have invested accordingly to deliver a higher rate of return. That’s the kind of commitment that we have to our customers. We want them to know that when they choose us, they are making the best decision for their future. Yellow Brick Road’s new variable home loan rate of 5.25 per cent p.a. for the first year and ongoing rate of 5.54 to 5.59 per cent p.a. for the life of the loan will be applied to their Empower range of home loans and is effective from 10 December 2012.
