25.01.2022 Thankyou to the following volunteers for taking on a role within our club in the 2021 Season: President: Chris Hermann, Vice President: Craig Lanson, Secretary: Cilla Goode, Treasurer: Debbie Esser. Registrars: (Internationals) Danya Jarvis, (Mini mods) Katie Fischer.... A huge thank you to our outgoing President Shaun Goode for his dedication and commitment to make the Seagulls the great club it is! But don't worry he isn't going too far, he will stay on as a general committee member volunteering throughout the club where needed. And we farewell retiring committee members Rikki and Natasha Pattel. They have been volunteering in Junior Rugby League for the last 20 years in many different roles, coaching, president, treasurer, registrar, co ordinator, FAO, team manager etc... Volunteers like Rikki, Natasha and Shaun are the backbone of our club, we thank you!

14.01.2022 UPDATE: We will continue to post updates on our facebook page as information comes to hand. The seagulls committee would like to wish all our participants, volunteers and players well in this period of uncertainty. May we all remain in good health and we look forward to returning to the sport we all love sometime in the near future... Please read the following memo released from the QRL. ... 17 March 2020 COMMUNITY RUGBY LEAGUE MEMO RE: COVID-19 (Corona Virus) TO: All Regions, Clubs and Leagues FOR: URGENT DISTRIBUTION This MEMO includes an update on information distributed on Friday 13, 2020 specifically relating to the QRL operational response to COVID-19 pandemic All Local League seasons are suspended which includes training up to and including 1 May 2020 to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The current position on training is an interim measure until further medical advice is provided on protocols required at Community Club level to contain the spread of the virus. During this period, it is important that we all work together to ensure that this decision is as effective as possible to reduce the infection rate of COVID-19. Below is a link to a document on the Qld Government’s website which provides more information about the importance of this practice, what you can do at home, and in public to minimise your exposure to COVID-19. https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-informatio Any participant or volunteer that is presenting cold or flu symptoms must self-isolate and seek immediate medical advice. Further to the above advice and in line with the Government directive on non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people the QRL, in consultation with its three Regions, have confirmed the cancellation or postponement of all Community Rugby League carnivals and selection trials indefinitely. Review of all programs will be ongoing with updates provided as the situation allows. Event hosts looking to postpone events should work directly through their Region when considering alternatives. Further information can be accessed via https://www.pm.gov.au/media/advice-coronavirus The QRL will continue to update all affiliates as new information becomes available. This may include modifying or extending timelines on the advice offered within this MEMO. Yours sincerely, Glenn Ottaway Regional General Manager Queensland Rugby League

07.01.2022 AGE GROUP CHANGE Apologies to our Yeppoon Seagull’s families who may have already seen the Rockhampton JRL Facebook post this morning regarding the vote to change the U18 age group at a meeting on Saturday. This vote was carried out under the correct meeting procedure by all clubs and associations and a motion was carried to form an U17 competition and remove the U18 competition from Rockhampton Juniors.... This decision was not taken lightly and was made with heavy consultation being carried out over the past 18 months with all clubs and associations including the Rockhampton Referee’s Association, Rockhampton Senior Rugby League and the QRL. This decision will remove the two year jump from U16 to U18 with the intent of keeping more children in our game. This decision assists with our pathways by splitting years between the State League and Local Competitions. Our main goal is to keep our game growing and moving forward in a positive manner and to align with our Senior Club’s directions. I will provide our club with more detailed information regarding the implementation of this majority decision and several other points decided on and discussed at the meeting after the Yeppoon JRL Committee has met this Saturday. In closing I hope to see everyone back in 2021 enjoying our great game. Regards, Shaun Goode President -Yeppoon JRL

05.01.2022 Congratulations on your selection in the U16 squad
