25.01.2022 Yeronga State High School Formal 15 September 2020 Some points to note for parents and students.. Students to arrive from 5.30 pm Students who are being dropped off in cars: please enter via bottom driveway entry at Oakwood Street (Gate 8). Form a single file line and proceed slowly through the school. (Please see map). ... Student/s will alight outside the Cultural Centre and driver will exit via the top driveway at Oakwood Street (via Gate 6). (Please see map) Parents and siblings may be present outside the Cultural Centre to see student arrivals. Social distancing must be maintained whilst present on school grounds. Parents and siblings are to leave the school grounds by 6.30 pm. Student will then proceed to the Cultural Centre for their formal. The formal will conclude at 10.00 pm. Please collect your child at this time. Stay at home if you are unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath. If you become unwell during the event please see a teacher Maintaining physical distancing requirements is the responsibility of all students and staff in attendance Students must present their formal ticket at the entrance to the Cultural Centre. We are all looking forward to our special night and cannot wait to share photos of our time with our Yeronga family.

22.01.2022 Today was a student free day and our staff professional development day. Staff engaged in various sessions/workshops throughout the day. It is important that we continually expand our knowledge and skills to implement the best educational practices. Teachers and staff also engaged in a workshop on Inclusive Practices - TRUE Workshop - Introduction to LGBTIQ+ concepts. It is also a #FabulousFriday! Theme of the day was Dressed to be NOTICED! That was the question of the day and should be a question we ask our family, friends and work mates who might be struggling with lifes ups and downs - not just today but everyday. If someone says theyre not OK, make time to listen, encourage action and check in. That conversation could change, or even save, their life. Today our Middle School Deputy Principal Mr Cox was tied up in paper chains that had words like stress, tired, betrayed, anxiety a...nd other words students and staff might relate to with whats going on in their lives at the moment. 09.01.2022 Next Thursday is R U OK? DAY - a national day of action dedicated to inspire people of all backgrounds to regularly ask each other Are you OK?. Staying connected with others is important for our health and wellbeing and can prevent mental health issues. Our wonderful Wellbeing Team are running a poster competition for students and staff to raise awareness for R U OK? Day. To enter you need to: - Create a poster on A4 paper/card that shows something you can do to look afte...r yourself when you are going through a tough time (Some examples may include exercise, music, playing an instrument, talking to a friend, patting your pet etc). - You can use pens/pencils/paint - Drop your art work off to one of the Wellbeing Team in F Block next to the tuckshop by next Thursday 10th September - There will be a $20 gift card most creative entry. 02.01.2022 What a brilliant circus performance of Fear Club presented by the Year 11 Drama in Practice students on Wednesday. The students worked wonderfully as a team and learnt to trust each other. They integrated music, text and circus in a thrilling twenty - five minutes performance. It was a very powerful performance about what fear is to them, their fears and conquering their fears. 02.01.2022 #FormalWithATwist We had our Year 12 Formal last night and it was certainly out of the ordinary...but nevertheless a very special night. We had games galore (electronic and traditional) at the formal for students to enjoy. It was a great team effort lead by our Year 12 coordinator Ms Kathy Fortescue and HOD of Senior Schooling Ms Domini Roblin. It was so great to see the smiles on our students faces and they all looked fabulous!... We would like to thank our wonderful P&C for sponsoring the tables, chairs and tablecloths for the Year 12 formal. #YSHS #Year12Formal
