23.01.2022 This is a hilarious game to watch! Beautiful co-operative play. They are role playing families- fighting over the tv remote, telling each other to get out of each other’s room, negotiating how long the 19 year old can take the car out for, issuing time outs, leaving babies in hot cars, kids not wanting to get up for school, nappy changes, phwoah life is busy for these little people pretending to be big people!!

20.01.2022 In Health the Juniors have been learning all about the digestive system, so today we simulated the processes of the digestive system by replicating the way we chew our food and use our saliva. We then break food down with our stomach acid and it turns into chyme. We did this with bread, water and vinegar and then used a tea towel to simulate the process that food goes through when it travels down the intestines and become poo. We also made vomit by recreating the conditions of the stomach using a plastic bag, bread and water and vinegar/lemon as the acid to break the food down. It was gross, but fun!

19.01.2022 Volcano eruptions part 2. A team effort.

19.01.2022 We are so excited to have Ruth come and volunteer her time to run a yoga and mindfulness session with all our students on Monday 14th of December. It has been quite the year and it will be wonderful for the students to take some time and reflect on how much they have achieved.

18.01.2022 The Junior class have been learning all about volcanoes in Science, all about the magma chamber, lava, vents, craters and ash clouds. As well as about super volcanoes, the 'Ring of Fire', tectonic plates and active, dormant and extinct volcanoes and how people can predict when a volcano may erupt. The class have all designed and constructed their own volcanoes and tried to make them look as realistic as possible, next week they will create chemical reactions to make their volcanoes erupt.

16.01.2022 Cannelloni The Senior class made their own ricotta in science yesterday to use in their spinach and ricotta cannelloni today. The spinach, garlic, parsley and mint were from our garden. Beautiful. Sorbet Yesterday the Senior class picked bowls full of raspberries, strawberries and Logan berries from our garden to freeze overnight with watermelon in time to make sorbet for dessert today. Can’t beat ice cream on a hot day!

14.01.2022 Whole school drama rehearsals.

13.01.2022 Today we created a concoction of bicarb soda, vinegar, detergent and food colouring to make our volcanoes erupt. Here are Charly and Lottie with their results.

06.01.2022 Water play on a hot day.

05.01.2022 We have upgraded our play equipment over the last week with rubber matting under half of our play area. The other half to be completed in 2021. As you can see it is looking amazing

04.01.2022 It was so lovely to have our lovely families back on site for pick up and drop off. There is definitely a lovely vibe back in our lovely school. Hooray!

03.01.2022 Listen. Only listen. This takes so much skill and focus. In drumbeat we are learning to listen only to follow the beat without opening our eyes to see what the drum leader plays. It is magic to watch their calm concentration and how the beat takes them. Michelle leads the drumbeat, changing the rhythm as she goes and the kids listen carefully and adjust and follow.

01.01.2022 It's a good morning! We have just received word from the Victorian Government's Department of Education regarding the last step of the roadmap to recovery for term 4 school operations. It's all HAPPY NEWS! * please read excerpt from Victorian Government update below. ... Please take this as an opportunity to jump back into our school community whole heartedly. We would love parents at our Monday Morning Meetings, reading in the classroom, strumming a tune in music, sharing skills and tips in the kitchen and heave-ho-ing in the garden. Come chat to us to see where we can incorporate your contributions. We've missed you! School visits Limitations on who can visit school premises no longer apply from the Last Step. This means parents can be welcomed back on site, for example for school drop-offs and pick-ups.
