24.01.2022 At Playgroup yesterday we celebrated National Agriculture Day (a day early) by creating handprint chickens, fingerprint sheep, muddy pigs and a counting carrots garden. At group time we stretched our gross motor muscles with a farm animal movement game, sang Old MacDonald and read 'My Dog Bigsby' and 'Black Cow, White Skin'. The Educator take home resource this week was a set of sequencing cards that explores the farm to table concept. Y FDC Playgroup thanks and appreciates our primary producers!

23.01.2022 #TheYathome Lets go on a hunt on this beautiful bright day. Grab a set of binoculars or even make your own with some recycled kitchen rolls and explore your home and garden. Use your childrens favourite books as inspiration. This activity encourages the childrens curiosity and creativity. Youll never know what treasures they might find along the mini journey

21.01.2022 We didn't care that it was hot, hot, hot at Playgroup today because it was Wonderful Water Day. We slipped, slided and splashed our way through the morning. Thank you to all children (and Educators ) for remembering to be sun safe. When a break was needed from the water we created colourful watercolour masterpieces and experimented with appearing rainbows. See you all next Thursday when we will reuse, reduce and recycle for National Recycling Week.

18.01.2022 The Federal Government has asked services to distribute the below information : Dear Families If you received Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2018-19, you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to a child care provider.... Most parents have already confirmed their income, but if you havent, do it now. If you dont confirm your 2018-19 income by 30 June 2020, your CCS will stop from 13 July 2020. You complete the Advise non-lodgement of tax return in your Centrelink online account through myGov or your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. If youve already confirmed your family income for 2018-19, theres nothing else you need to do. 13.01.2022 Playgroup today was overrun by witches, zombies, spiders and skeletons and it COULD NOT have been more fun! We constructed spider headbands and created paper mummies with our own faces on them before moving to the cool of inside for Halloween dancing and a 'Meg and Mog' story. We even went trick or treating to our FDC Manager, Michelle, for a lollipop treat. Happy Halloween everyone.

13.01.2022 2020 is a tough year for all Family Day Care Educators. And we are proud to be working with fantastic Educators who have been striving their best over the past few months to maintain and provide care & early learning for families in need. Just want to send a big shoutout to thank you for all your hard works. Our team is here with you to make sure that your voice is heard loud and clear.

12.01.2022 Y FDC Playgroup was full of curious creatures and wild minds today as we celebrated Book Week. The children: * created their own wild things; * went on a Gruffalo hunt; * checked that there was room on the broom for all the animals; * made a cake for the hippos living on their roofs; and... * coloured curious creatures bookmarks. After our bear hunt musical story we sat down to read 'My Friend Fred' the winner of the CBCA Early Childhood Book of the Year. Great to see you all this week and I'm looking forward to our ssspppooooookkkyyy Halloween inspired Playgroup next week.

08.01.2022 At a time when the whole world is facing a crisis, today we are pausing to remember all those who have served, and are currently serving, in our armed forces. The YMCA was proud to play a small but important role supporting our ANZAC men and women during WW1, providing our diggers recreation opportunities, postal services, and home comforts. Our social centres were initially setup in military camps in Australia, before being stationed at every camp in every country where our ...troops served. We were privileged to bring them arts and crafts, games, sports, film screenings, and everything in between. Serving those who serve is a great honour, and it is important we remember the great sacrifice they made. Please take a moment today to reflect and pay tribute to the extraordinary people who risked everything to give us everything. Lest we forget.

07.01.2022 What is one thing you have enjoyed each week during COVID? Here at the office ours was " Catch Up Cuppa"

07.01.2022 On Saturday we will honour those who served in wars and military operations. Leave a message for fallen soldiers, veterans and others who serve during wartime. Using chalk write Lest we forget or We will remember them on your driveway. You can also draw a poppy to commemorate the Anzacs. Show us your message in the comments. #AnzacAtHome

02.01.2022 The theme of #NRW2020, #InThisTogether, reminds us that we all have a role to play in the reconciliation journey. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At the Y, children from around Australia, have come #together to deliver an Acknowledgment of Country. Our children will also be doing a variety of activities throughout the week to learn more about Reconciliation Week and our ...First Nations Peoples histories and cultures. #NRW #InThisTogether2020

01.01.2022 Place a poppy for Anzac Day. It was a YMCA volunteer who started the tradition of wearing a red poppy for remembrance, and this year we want to be able to continue this tradition. While we may not be able to attend a service or march, we can still show our gratitude and respect to Australians and New Zealanders who sacrificed so much for us. Follow the instructions in the link and display a poppy on your fence, window or mailbox on Saturday. https://bit.ly/2KACh77 #AnzacAtHome

01.01.2022 Please speak with your Educator if you need care
