When: Sunday 15 October, 2017 Where: Captain Burke Park, 117 Holman St, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane There are 2 race courses, 4km and 8km. We start under the Story Bridge in Captain Burke Park and runs along Kangaroo Point cliffs, through the Botanical Gardens and back to finish in Captain Burke Park. What: There are 2 races held. The Family Event (Ages 7-12 with an adult per team) and the Team Event (Ages 13+). Teams of up to four are given a large inflatable cheese which they carry and protect throughout the course. This is an exciting urban adventure event incorporating local landmarks and cheesy, fun themed obstacles such as slides, pools, tunnels and more! But the fun doesnt end at the finish line! The YMCA is putting on a Ratty Festival after party in Captain Burke Park with food, drinks, live music, market stalls and of course, CHEESE. Why: The YMCA Rat Race is a fundraising event for the YMCA School breakfast program which is currently providing nutritious meals to children from low income families, providing them with a real opportunity to learn and be successful in school.
