13.01.2022 Such a beautiful, fresh perspective!

12.01.2022 A portfolio of action photos from our Hip Workshop on Sunday with Iyengar yoga teacher and Physiotherapist Rebecca McFarlane. Students and teachers found the de...pth of instruction valuable and the practical experience effective. Rebecca gave descriptive, clear, directions and demonstrations in the postures to bring insight in to the mechanics of the hip region, and the tendencies that may arise in day to day life as well as in our asana practice. Coupling the knowledge of the structure of muscles and bones together with the presentation of the asanas, was a thorough look in and experience. We had time to feel, do and make sense of essential actions, that heighten awareness, bring vitality, and create commitment in the body and mind of the practitioner. We love that sense of growing confidence and natural ease that’s given in this practice. Thanks everyone who came, what an attentive and appreciative group and lovely community of yogi’s. Three more workshops this year: Shoulder: July 28 Knee: August 11 Back: September 22 BOOK in now, all classes already half full. https://unfoldyoga.punchpass.com/passes

07.01.2022 Thank you to Rebecca McFarlane for providing a most thorough, engaging and enjoyable yoga and Physio workshop series in 2019. The fully booked five class series... was a testimony to the benefit and value that it delivered. We are looking forward to having Rebecca back next year for more holistic and investigative work for the body and mind. Wow, what a team of teachers and portfolio of unique events we are building here at Unfold.

06.01.2022 Beautiful words from Gus Speth, American environmental lawyer and advocate. Science is truly an unparalleled gift to humanity but alone it is simply medicine.

03.01.2022 Rebecca Mcfarlane working her magic over our January 4 day intensive. Rebecca’s in-depth knowledge of human anatomy is invaluable to her yoga classroom. Keep an eye out for other workshops run by Rebecca McFarlane in 2020.

03.01.2022 I haven't been posting on here lately. I've been a busy with plenty of learning and development so I can keep improving myself and others. Sometimes this incl...udes investing in different disciplines (in line in my values and that take a holistic approach to health). I attended a workshop series from Unfold Yoga + Wellbeing recently with Rebecca McFarlane [Physiotherapist, Anatomy & Physiology Teacher, Iyengar Yoga Teacher]. What an incredible and eye-opening series, learning all things Shoulders, Back and Hips and applying it to our bodies, postures and movement sequences. Unfortunately I missed one workshop (Knee), hopefully I the series continues and I can catch up on that one, and more! Thank you for an excellent series!

03.01.2022 Why do we use props in Iyengar Yoga? B.K.S. Iyengar explained the major benefit of props as being neurological control. Neurology he said is the hub of the... life force. You can use props in a way that doesn’t over exert or jangle the nerves. On the contrary, working with a prop can strengthen and calm the nerves. A table or trestle or even a wall can support and hold the body securely so that the energy needed to explore a particular extension or opening can be freed up. In this way, props can support and stabilise the outer body without restricting the freedom of movement of the organic body. Have you found props helpful to your practice? 02.01.2022 We were all so enthusiastic and engaged throughout the Shoulder Workshop yesterday, with a broad variety of people attending from early practitioners to teacher...s. This method of practice offers clarity in the body, giving instantaneous results. One student saying it was the first time in a long time that she was able to access a particular movement! As these photos show - we navigated through specific actions, and gradually explored the range of movement of the shoulder. Getting a picture of the structure of the joint through the anatomy and physiology, helped us all develop good alignment, and improved integrity of alignment throughout the whole body. The detailed instructions intensified our ability to do the poses well, getting release of tight muscles and strengthening around the joint. A great day with excellent results. Thanks goes to Rebecca McFarlane for her detailed and insightful practice and teaching, coupled with her background in Physiotherapy. Thanks to everyone who participated with great enthusiasm and attention. Only two weeks away until the KNEE Workshop, Sunday 11th August. Be quick, only few spots left.
