14.01.2022 The state of yoga is when you are conducting the energy (prana) of the living universe. If yoga poses are forced in any way the breath is obstructed and prana ceases to be conducted into and out of the body as a natural easy flow. Full feeling whole body yogic breath is filling belly, diaphragm and chest, front, back and sides in every pose. The benefits of working with deep full breaths in every pose are greater purification, strength, flexibility, steadiness, calm and lightness. Smiling gently throughout your practice inhibits the tendency to force the body. Relax and enjoy your practice and you will be Ecstatic, Radiant and Powerful Duncan Ewing Join our online classes via yogaartsacademy.com

12.01.2022 UPAVISTHA KONASANA - One of the greatest boons to Women. Upavista Konasana helps the blood to circulate in the pelvic region, regulates the menstrual flow and... stimulates the ovaries. Regular practice of Upavistha Konasana together with Janu Sirasana and Baddha Konasana can help prevent and relieve period pain and cramping. Hip, knee and stomach pain as well as flatulence can also be relieved by practicing this pose. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Sit upright and spread the legs as far apart as comfortably possible. 2. Keep the the feet perpendicular to the floor and press into the soles of the feet. 3. Catch the big toes of each foot with the thumb and index and middle fingers of the corresponding hands. Keep the thumbs on the outside and the fingers on the inside of each big toe. 4.Press the legs down, raise the waist and sides of the body up. Stay in this position for several breaths. 5. Exhale, extend the trunk and bend forward, touching the floor with the forehead, nose and if possible the chin. Press the sternum into the floor. 6. Extend the arms and hold the soles of the feet if possible. Remain in the pose for as long as comfortable. 7. Inhale, raise the head up, lift the body, return to an upright position and release the hands. Do not at any time bend the knees or allow the backs of the legs to leave the floor.

06.01.2022 BADDHA KONASANA - another in our series of yoga asanas to support the female processes. Regular practice of Baddha Konasana improves the functioning of the live...r and spleen channels and relieves stress from these organs which are taxed during mensuration. It also tones the kidneys, strengthens the bladder and uterus. Ladies if you are looking to conceive, regular practice of Baddha Konasana for an extended period of time can increase your chances of getting pregnant! INSTRUCTIONS 1. Sit on the floor with the legs out in front, bend both the knees so the soles of the feet come together; 2. Hold the feet, the soles facing upwards and bring them as close to the perineum as possible; 3. Let the thighs and knees sink towards the floor, breathe normally; 3. Hold the feet with the hands, on each exhale, press the knees, ankles and thighs towards the floor, extend the trunk upwards; breathe deeply; 4. Once the knees and thighs touch the floor, press both the elbows against the thighs, exhale and bend the trunk forward from the hip, rest the forehead, nose then chin on the floor. Remain in this position for as long as possible; 5.To come out of the pose, inhale, lift the head and return to an upright position. Release the feet and straighten the legs. One should not attempt to bend forward until the knees and thighs touch the floor in the upright sitting position. Bending forward before the knees and thighs touch the floor puts unnecessary strain on the hips and knees.
