16.01.2022 Senior teacher, Glenn Ceresoli, with a practice sequence for strengthening the immune system: "Dear All, Below I have written a simple sequence to help strength...en the immune system. It is designed as a restorative practice based on activating the various systems in our body which all contribute towards defending our bodies from foreign organisms such as viruses, and infections. The supports are to reinforce calmness and ease and allow us to bathe in the benefits of the asana for longer with less effort and energy consumption, hence it is energetically economical. The sequence targets the vitality and circulatory systems and balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Regulating the metabolism, so that all glandular function is at its peak capacity to fight off diseases that may hack into our system. Practiced regularly, consistently, over an extended period of time, this sequence can be very effective in boosting our immune system and ward off invading viruses. This sequence requires the practitioner to have some experience and insight into the Iyengar method of practice and use of props. (If asanas such as Sirsasana are beyond your capacity, do the supported variation, or leave it out). Do not force what you can not do. Sirsasana done well is very helpful for this sequence, done forcefully without understanding will be a disadvantage, rather than an advantage. Refer to photos when reading the text for best results." Many thanks to http://www.bodilmauritzen.no/ for a beautiful presentation.

16.01.2022 Dear All, Margaret and I hope you are all managing in the best way possible to meet the challenges presented to us due to this virus. We are witnessing a world...wide change to our lives and the way we have become accustomed to living them. The challenges go far beyond physical illness or the threat of death. The economic, political and social implications have caused much uncertainty; hence our mental-emotional state is disturbed and the whole world is insecure and fearful of the future. From the wealthy to the poor and across all cultures, everybody is being forced to re-evaluate their lives and beliefs. It is a call for a change in consciousness and to broaden the field of our awareness so that we observe our unconscious impulses and deliberately replace them with conscious thoughts, words, and behaviour. Practicing yoga is a discipline of Self-management. No educational institution, no organisation, no government can or does take responsibility for our lives. We must do that for ourselves. And this not a burden. It is a privilege which yoga equips us with. Let’s never make the mistake of underestimating the potential of practicing yoga and the difference it can make to our lives. Whatever you do, yoga helps you do it better. This time in our history calls for us to be more considerate of our unique circumstances and of one another. To be more diligently aware of what we do, how we do it and why we are doing it. To re-evaluate what is important and where we are investing our energy and efforts, thoughts and actions, time and expression. Thoughtfulness, awareness, observation and enquiry are required more than ever Yoga orientates us so that we don’t continue to walk around fooled by the illusion. The illusion that we can continue as we have; taking and not giving. We all need to take responsibility, not only for the environment around us, but more so for the inner environment. The inner environment which dictates and interacts with our emotions. Each and every one of us need to make a conscious contribution. Practicing yoga stabilises the mind and emotions. It keeps the system functioning at its highest level. So in our time of need, let us not abandon yoga, else its benefits abandon us. Margaret and I wish you the very best and we hope everyone finds the means to manage their individual and collective circumstances, whatever they may be. Remember - there is always a solution, it may not be the one you want, but there is always a solution you need. Sometimes it ends up being the one you also wanted.

14.01.2022 Teachers practice this morning. Building up to Urdhva Prasarita Ekapadasana. Urdhva means upright, above high. Prasarita means extended, stretched out. Eka means one, pada means the foot. This posture is done by standing on one leg, bending forward and lifting the other leg high up. A challenging pose for the hips and groins! Thanks Sally for taking the pics.

05.01.2022 My thoughts on the narrative about the sinister agenda behind pandemic.. I’ve been very fortunate to sit very still with old men and women of Australia, North A...merica, South America, all from Earth based cultures. Elders whose people have been truly screwed over by governments conditioned to deceive in order to push their agendas. These Elders hold the most exquisite Grace. They live in the world - but not of it. They teach to use every single drop of negativity in the world as compost for your spiritual growth. Elders demonstrated to me that there is no need to assume a position needing to be proved or defended, to be right or to be wrong. Like the tide coming in and going out, they are of a Force that is unstoppable. Nothing to gain or lose as they are whole. These Elders appeared to rest in the complete knowing that one’s internal eternity is married to Love within an Ancestral Family. A Love that is forever victorious beyond the rise and falls of corporations, governments, empires and civilisation. This is the Love that interests me greatly. The Elders illuminated a path for me which made much more sense then anything else I was trying to fight for. They modelled a far more sustainable way of existing in the very VERY long run that is sustenance for a honourable great grand child’s growth. The path of peace. Peace has no destination, it is the way to walk. I am devoted to peace. It does not mean I am not aware that sinister agendas still exist. It does not mean I don’t go back into the fight inside my mind again and again, but then over and over again I continue to recommit to the path of peace. There is such a great Peace upon Earth at present. Can you feel it too? It’s showering on everyone. The extraordinary balancing forces of the Full Moon and the Sun in alignment. The illumination of all day and all night. A well received ‘top up’ for those of us walking the path of peace... Anganu Elder Uncle Bob would say ‘when one finger is pointing at another, four fingers are pointing back at ourselves.’ Imagine if every single person was totally and utterly devoted to being honest, kind, and loving to even their most cruelest enemy, and refusing to be controlled by fear? The result will be that not ever will there ever need to be a story told of the ‘great lie they won’t tell you’ or the mean things ‘they’ are planning to do to ‘us.’ The so called villains will be dissolved. The whole world’s narratives will change.... That power to change the narrative is within each and every one of us. Right this very second. War or Peace? Fear of Love? And when the mind cries ‘there’s no interesting drama in peace’, I just remind myself that one day the ego will have to give up the ghost. When it comes time to die. Those Senior Elders demonstrated, there is no mind at war existing in the endless realm of forever Love. That’s why, I imagine, it is said they walk into the Spirit World without a ‘fight’ when it comes time to die. They’re very well prepared for Peace in death for they practiced Peace on Earth. 03.01.2022 And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were st...ill. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. "And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. "And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed." ~Kitty O'Meara Thank you my beautiful Sister Janneke Hellebrekers for bringing this beautiful writing @ sacred art to my awareness!
