25.01.2022 God grant me the serenity, to accept the thing I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference Reinhold Niebuhr When I first truely comprehend the meaning of these words a simplicity of solution was gifted to me. Where the struggle for me mainly, was knowing what wasn’t mine to control and to be able to see the difference clearly.... 23.01.2022 I am not what happened to me but what I choose to become Carl Jung The miss identification of who I am with my Condition of how I have arrived in this moment due to the past life situations , observations and judgements of those experiences can be an addiction, can definitely lead to suffering, can be reaffirming to the Ego and essentially makes my mind super busy. To free myself of that I practice yoga, self awareness training, meditation and fellowship with other truth ...seekers to get right perspective. If yoga is cessation of the fluctuations of the mind as #Patanjali said. A great tool to clear the clouded mind and heart is #Forgiveness. 23.01.2022 He who binds himself to joy does the winged life destroy, but he who kisses the joy as it flies lives in eternity’s sunrise William Blake This quote points to a very familiar experience from my past, finding joy and trying to hold onto it so much it hurts and eventually leaves, leaving me with sorrow. Have you struggled with addictions in your life ? ... Too many milky bars, beers, hours of work that just don’t seem to fill the hole inside? A big part of the yoga journey for me has been about self study without judgment (Svadhyaya). This enables me to notice what I notice - notice that I’m noticing and notice the part of me that does the noticing = more self aware = more conscious choice = more #equanimity. The opposite of addiction is connection - connection or unity is another name for yoga. The ability to firmly grip, the quality or fact of being very determined or persistent - Tenacity!... 21.01.2022 Focus on the learning don’t focus on succeeding then you’ll succeed Shunryu Suzuki After about 15 years in the music industry I hit a limit, I always had other people to record my vocals and do the Producing for me , I had a fear of technology and I was in a new town without my usual network and frustration of stagnation had set in. I asked other artists about writers block and learned useful practices. ... The bomb dropped when my mate and tour buddy Jesse Desenberg said to me while standing in the snow one bleary post gig morning what are you afraid of ? Be ok to be a beginner and learn. Not long after that conversation I bought my first laptop and sound card and began the journey of becoming computer literate and learned to record and produce my own vocals. Soon I was working with international producers and running my own label and club nights and promotion that gave me autonomy and a stable base to do my thing from. My last single went #1 world wide hip hop and breakbeat charts on Juno with a new outfit called Tha Fun Police, a brand new act we began during Covid-19 , not afraid to be a beginner even in a time where we can’t even gig and rewarded with success by focusing on the learning and excitement of the process. 21.01.2022 "Perfect balance of strength and ease creates freedom" Yogi Cam In a world full of Yang and driving energy learning to consciously rest was a challenge for me. ... For years I thought it was about push till you burn out then take a holiday.The more I did this the more I gradually came undone on subtle levels of my life until it was like putting your foot on the break in a station wagon full of luggage where it ends up in your lap on the front seat and you have to learn to unpack the wreckage. When I first started Yin Yoga I hated it, it was a challenge to be still and sit with myself rather than be distracted by #doing stuff. Learning to balance with Conscious resting and Yin Yoga showed me I could achieve more in a gracious way, it’s like the slowing down builds tread on my wheels so I can drive where I want more easily without having to clean up the wreckage from burn out or the overcorrections from spinning it out of control from to much Push. Essentially creating #freedom. Yin yoga taught me how to be comfortable in an uncomfortable situation, how to consciously stop and asses #svadyaya , self study without judgement - the witness mind, develop #patience and bring the #Sukah / #joy and ease consciously into my experience of life. 18.01.2022 Completed my Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training last week and honestly i learned so much about holding space for others in a seriously uncomfortable and difficult situation that to be honest we all will face at sometime in our lives if we know other humans these days. As a parent i feel this is an essential skill set and as a yogi and someone who facilitates transformation i regularly have this conversation and now i feel equip to do so on a better level. Highly recommend this short course to anyone who wants to support life for others in need.

This isn't for everybody so if you have neck or spine issues probably avoid until the ok from a doctor. In tough times it's always good to flip it on it's head and change the perspective , flip the script ! Great benefits from stress reduction, increased functionality to the pituitary gland, flushing the lymphatic system and most importantly FEELING GOOD ! 16.01.2022 In the #BeginnersMind there are many possibilities , in the Experts mind there are few Shunryu Suzuki Through the rehabilitation of a severe back injury I learned a lot about my spine. Perhaps too much for a fearful mind (at that stage)... I had a story that I would never get into the pose in this picture due to my spinous processes ( the sticky outy bits on the back of my vertebrae ) colliding and I believed my lack of range was due to this. I was wrong! But the story I told myself stopped me trying in fear of injury. Through correct spine mobility awareness and training from @yogidunx and some good shoulder opening Yin practice I realised the problem was my shoulders not my back and finally I could get into My Version of #urdhvadhanurasana or #WheelPose. The lesson was that i outsmarted my body and made a Decision about my limits rather than an Exploration of my possibility using sensation as a guide and trusting my practice enough to allow sensation to keep me safe rather than story. This is a teaching of #BeginnersMind a Zen Buddhist concept useful in yoga practice to aid in the exploration of a study even at expert level as if it were the first time we had noticed it. 14.01.2022 Resentments are like drinking a cup of poison and hoping the other person dies In recovery from addiction circles the number one killer of an addict is resentment. It fuels the diss ease that needed medication in the first place and leads to the relapse in unhealthy habits that can end a life unnecessarily. 10.01.2022 God grant me the serenity to accept the things that can’t be changed, courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference Reinhold Niebuhr When I truely embrace these words I have a very simple plan for living. 1) #accept what can’t be changed or what’s outside of my control ( including other people)... 2) courage to change what I can - if I can do something about it make a plan and do it. 3) wisdom to know the difference - sleep on it or meditate and the answers will show but if that’s still not working be humble enough to ask someone who’s gone through it their thoughts to gain perspective- then back to steps 1 and 2. So how was 2020 in the #Triumph category for you? What did you over come, create or succeed with ? As an Aussie growing up suffering the societal norm of Tall Poppy Syndrome I often felt strange celebrating the small wins in life for fear of judgment. That whole stop talking ya self up mate disease kept me in fake humility of pretending to be small to fit in or make others feel comfortable. As an adult I realised the value of acknowledging the small wins along the way to my grand goals as essential fuel to the fire for motivation, accountability and keep me afloat if I feel overwhelmed to know I’m on track and this too will pass. 08.01.2022 Once we accept our limitations we go beyond them A Einstein Have you tried to force a shape in your body that’s not there today or just painfully out of reach ?... I remember the first time I managed a #planche (it was quite by accident) while demonstrating plank variations during a Pilates workshop. In that moment it naturally and effortlessly appeared. The student asked me how I managed to get there and quite frankly I responded One million Chaturanga’s lol I had tried the pose unsuccessfully many times and my teacher said more strength in basic postures is needed, keep practicing I forgot about the end result and just accepted the commitment to the regular practice (#abhyasaandvairagya ) I had accepted my limitation and what was needed to move beyond and committed to the practice of the building blocks and moved beyond what was once a limitation. 08.01.2022 Thank you for showing up this year! Last Power class for 2020. What are YOU #grateful for this year ? ... This year has brought so much upheaval for me in a lot of areas in my life but I’m so #grateful for what 2020 has unveiled. 1)I have taught myself to video edit and nearly finished my online yoga course! To be released in 2021. 2)I have created a private yoga and mentoring business that has helped to sustain me independently. 3) I have connected with my birth mother and siblings for the first time in my life and healed one of the oldest wounds in my heart 4)I have a new music project , conceived in lockdown that went #1 in 2 charts. I usually point to the H.A.L.T.S as indicators of needed #Restoration.... Hungry Angry Lonely Tired Sick I heard someone say B.L.A.S.T Bored Lonely Angry Stressed Tired With all of these things there’s a very practical solution of what to do next to soothe those issues- Hungry = get something to eat. Angry = meditate / breathe until perspective occurs or talk with a mentor. Lonely = connect with my friends or higher self. Tired = sleep or yoga Nidra. Sick = get to the doctor . Once I attend to the needed #Restoration my perspective will return to balance. Yoga is more about prevention than cure and with regular practice and #svadhyaya (self study) I can catch these indicators before they grow into unmanageable issues that create havoc. 04.01.2022 The greatest progress in life comes from knowing your limitations and having the courage to drop them YOGI BHAJAN Sitting in stillness with our condition just the way it is, the way we’ve shown up today, without distraction, without identifying with the condition, without suppressing what is can be scary if you’re not used to it. F . E . A . R - False expectations appearing real.... Can translate into - F#%k Everything and Run OR the flip side - Face Everything and Rise ! Courage appears in the moment of choice when we are faced with this fork in the road of our consciousness, to step into the discomfort of the challenge to lean in to do the work. Yin and meditation has helped me to befriend my mind and to be able to sit in uncomfortable places without the need to react due to them. Courage in yin came from the courage to observe my habits, reactions, limitations and judgments and not react, this gave me freedom from the limitations of my condition and self empowered choice to a new way. Yoga gave me a pause button where there wasn’t one before thank god I don’t always get it right but it’s so much better than it used to be - Progress not perfection this is the spiritual way. 01.01.2022 Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired ? Are you done with chasing the highs and running from the lows ? When this question was asked of me it was obvious what the answer was to my teacher. ... The journey to #Equanimity had now begun. Calmness and composure especially in a difficult situation is connected to the Grown Up non reactive part of me. Taking a moment to breathe and get perspective and observe my situation without emotional bias is part of my practice of Equanimity, seeing things as they are not as I wish they were or weren’t is my practice of coming back to centre and from there I make a better decision that requires less over correcting or cleaning up of mess if I was reactive. More from centre means less pendulum swing, means more equanimity, means more effective use of energy, and results in a more vibrant energy resource for what I choose.
