18.01.2022 The foundations for the new medical clinic in Lebutum are coming along beautifully! Thanks to Greg the builder and a few amazing Brazilians who lent a hand while Greg was over putting in the plumbing last weekend. Many hands make light work!

17.01.2022 Springwood High School will be raising money at Penrith Bunnings today for their upcoming trip to East Timor. If you feel the need for a snag in bread (and even maybe some hardware items) come down and support this brave bunch! Penrith Homemaker Centre- Jamisontown. See you there!

17.01.2022 2 weeks ago we arrived home from a 2 week trip to East Timor with a bunch of students from Springwood High School. Our aim was to help Branca from Kids Ark out with a clinic building for the remote village of Lebutum high in the mountains of East Timor. We didn't realise how remote until we spent some time with the people and found out they have only had a road to their village for 2 years! The first time Branca visited them about 10 years ago they were so afraid of strangers... that they all hid. What a difference we found in such a short time. The kids from Springwood worked really hard and learned so many things about the world around them and also about themselves as they were pushed to limits they didn't know existed and they taught us a few things about leadership and ourselves that we will not soon forget. Overall it was a successful trip and an answer to many many prayers of many many people! In the village there was a lot of sickness that was quite confronting and we had a few conversations about how to help people long term not just providing short term fixes. With this info brewing in the kids' minds, on their own initiative they all got together and pooled their money and came up with $350 to give to Branca to supply medicine to treat those affected by the disease. Branca was able to put this money to immediate use and 2 days later 61 people were treated by the visiting nurse in the brand new, not quite finished clinic. So moved by the actions of these guys and the intelligent, compassionate thinking behind this gesture. As you look through the pictures I pray that God touches your heart. 12.01.2022 Only 3 and a half weeks til Springwood High School students head over to East Timor for 2 weeks. We'll be travelling up to the village of Lebutum to meet the people living there and to lend a hand with the clinic. Please keep this bunch of brave souls in your prayers and also pray that the people of Lebutum will experience God's love during this time. We'll also be travelling out to Balibo and learning about East Timor and Australia's connections. Can't wait. Will be a fantastic experience.

09.01.2022 This is Lebutum. Located about an hour from Dili up in the mountains in the district of Metinaro. Branca from Kids Ark has been visiting this village as a nurse and a Pastor for the last 10 years. The village has roughly 100 families, with many children under the age of 10. The nearest doctor is a 6 hour walk. Branca's prayer for Lebutum is for them to have access to good medical care. This July will see Branca's prayer become reality with the construction of a medical clinic right in the centre of the village. Awesome hey?

08.01.2022 Can you help? In a couple of months there'll be a camp called "Kings Kids" at Kids Ark School for a bunch of children from churches all around East Timor. The camp goes for a week, includes 3 meals a day, Kings kids shirt, fun, games and of course, camping. What an amazing opportunity for a group of kids to come together and learn about Jesus while making new friends. They're hoping to have 60-80 kids come along and for only $20 you can make it happen for one child whose fami...ly couldn't otherwise afford for them to go along. Fill out your details and in the second step choose "once off donation of AU$20" and "Kids Ark School", in the comments box write "Kings Kids" then click submit. 07.01.2022 Today is the first day of our 2 week trip to East Timor with 17 "kids" from Springwood High School. We'll be spending most of our time in Lebutum, lending a hand with a clinic there and getting to know the village. This project is partnering with Kids Ark nurse Branca and supporting the work she does with the people of Lebutum. The nearest clinic/nurse/doctor to the village is a 6 hour walk. This clinic and staff will make a real difference to the everyday health of this community.

01.01.2022 Tomorrow we'll be BBQing up a storm to raise money for the next stage of the clinic in Lebutum, which HVBC and some workers from Alice Springs will also be working on in September. ARB 4WD accessories in Penrith have given us this great opportunity for which we are very grateful! If you want to come on down, grab a sausage sandwich and take a look around we'd love to see you!
