25.01.2022 Calling out to all yp members, we are in need for helpers to do a hour or two shift in our canteen for this Saturdays race meeting. Can you please comment a time when you are willing to help, or we will be assigning all members a stint and time to help out. More hands the less people will have to do. cheers

24.01.2022 Yorke Peninsula Dirt Karts are Back. It was great to see karts back at Yorke Peninsula again. With nearly 120 karts competing on Saturday after a few concerns with the weather early. The weather gods were on our side finally and produced a cold but great day for racing and after the sun had set it became bitterly cold but the racing was a great spectacle for all, especially the many spectators braving the conditions. The drivers are to be applauded with their conduct on and o...ff the track with many new restrictions and completing racing without one race stoppage. The track was back to its best and the drivers appreciated it. we finished racing after Heat 4 as the temperature plummeted to a mere four degrees. Well done to all the officials and volunteers on the day to be able to keep things moving and finish when we did and allow everyone to find some warmth. Our next meeting is August 8th, keep checking facebook for details. 23.01.2022 With the devastating news yesterday on the passing of Warren Joyce I sat back and took another outlook on life. Warren was a great bloke, always happy and joyfu...l to be around and spent many joyous occasions with Warren and Michelle at many Dirt Karting events across Australia and even in my own home. Seeing all the posts and comments on social media it has obviously touched many hearts of you all as well. The recent scenario of Dirt Karting and life in general has effected us all, some greater than others and most of us took it all for granted the feeling of others as we dealt with our own lives, I know I did. Everyone's circumstances are different and until we put ourselves in their shoes we can't know how others are feeling. It is now time we all checked in on our mates and friends to see how they are coping. You may not have heard from them in a while and you definitely need to make contact. The RU OK questions needs to be asked by all of us young and old. If you are having issues or withdrawals, not just from karts but life in general also please reach out to a mate, associate or helpline before it gets too much. It may start off small but can escalate very quickly. It may seem to you to be a weakness to ask for help but please feel assured we are all here to help and it is an illness not a weakness. Please take time to read through the RUOK mateship manual and view the video so you can identify an issue and seek help or offer advice to those in need. https://youtu.be/tm_F7fblvqw We are a great kartng community and you are all a part of your local communities, it is time to check in and make sure you are all OK!!!! We are financially stable and can handle all current costs together with our normal running costs. We have funds in our working account to do this at present.... Licenses : It is our aim to give financial relief to all current licenses holders. The Finance Committee is looking at this financially but in the interim bear with us as its going to be a while until we know the full impact of this Corona Virus situation, time wise etc. The Finance Committees’ intention is to manage the Associations financial side so it has the least impact as possible on you, the member.

16.01.2022 After the rain last night. The track is fine and the education day and AGM are going ahead.

16.01.2022 Results from Saturday night. Thanks for all those who attended also all our volunteers and officials. We finished with approx 130 noms which was a great number for our first meet. It was a trying day with the warm day along with strong winds. Then after the break we had a thunder and lightning show as a backdrop to the north which held off until just after the last race. Our next event is the SA Masters games over two nights Friday and Saturday 16th and 17th April with racing from 5.30pm both nights. Nominations are open now. Check the post on Facebook for details.

16.01.2022 Re: Returning to racing We have been working tirelessly in investigating what each individual States requirements are, in being able to have some sort of kartin...g activity on our tracks. Lucky for the 2 x NT clubs, they have been able to start their season due to different Government restrictions for the Territory. SA, WA and QLD have not been so lucky. We are dictated by the Emergency Management plans of each state and these haven’t been updated for some time. In SA we are hoping for this to be updated very soon as more restrictions are being lifted from Monday 1st June. Whilst the Goal posts are continually being changed we feel that we are edging closer for some action to be finally happening on our tracks. Rest assured, we are keeping a close on each Official announcement from every State to see if it affects us in anyway. ‘Possible’ time frames for kart activity (education or racing)at present are dependent on future updates: NT: Now SA: Late June to Early July QLD: Early to Mid July WA: Early to Mid July These are not definite and very dependent on future State Government restrictions. Clubs in some states will need to complete a Covid Safe Plan before any activity occurs at their club. We will keep you informed with details and relevant links as we get closer to a start date, as these details and requirements are changing regularly. Thank you for your patience. It is much appreciated. AIDKA Executive

13.01.2022 GEOFF PHILLIPS MEMORIAL NIGHT This event was run for the second time Saturday night with great numbers supporting the event. It was great to see others who were not racing to come support and spectate this event, they weren't disappointed with 124 nominations, 23 of those being KT Twins who were the spectacle of the night. This would have to be the largest field of KT Twins outside of a title event across the association for many years. The weather was perfect for racing exc...ept the small rain delay in the night session. The track was exceptional once again. Thanks to those behind the scenes who rallied to get the twin drivers to YP and make it a great night. Also thanks to Jayne and Bob Gelston for coming to help out with stewarding and starting. Brodan Skinner, Ethan Skinner and Connor Peterson for assisting with track prep and quad bike duties, also Amy Francis for stepping in at late notice to do the outgrid. Along with the normal crew of officals, volunteers and helpers you all did an amazing job and took the pressure of the club for such a great event which will hopefully grow with bigger numbers next year after this year's success. 10.01.2022 YPDKC season opener was held on Saturday 15th February. Great day for racing in mild conditions. The track has had some changes over the break, the major being the reshaping of one corner and was well received by the drivers and made the racing more interesting with greater passing opportunities. Well done once again to our many volunteers especially those from other clubs who are willing to help out. With a new track crew this year racing was progressinig a little slower tha...n previous but the drivers appreciated the great track and the water was needed to keep it that way. Credit guys as there was only one incident all night which ended the night. Our next meeting is on 4th April, check facebook for details when they become available. 07.01.2022 URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Due to today’s Government announcement of further restrictions to mass gatherings, all AIDKA events have been cancelle...d effective immediately (Friday 20th March 2020until18th May 2020). At the AIDKA Executive meeting on 15th May, we will reassess the Covid-19 Virus situation and update clubs moving forward. We have had contact from our Insurance company who suggested that if any club was found to be non-compliant with Government regulations, that no Public Liability coverage will apply. There are also heavy monetary penalties for clubs and the Association if compliance has been breached. This is something the Executive is not prepared in putting the Association at risk. We apologise for the late notice to Morgan and Jennacubbine clubs who have already put in much preparation for tomorrow’s meeting.
