20.01.2022 The current requirements under Stage 2 of the easing of COVID 19 restrictions for WA means that our club will have to remain closed for a little while longer... We are hoping that the stage 3 requirements will be eased sufficiently that we can safely reopen the club for all our students... In the mean while we invite all our Forrestfield members to join us on Zoom for online training Wednesday (6pm) and Saturday (10am). Stay safe, Roy https://www.wa.gov.au//COVID-19-Safety-Guidelines-Sport-an

19.01.2022 One for our juniors... Our Junior Classes are designed to help children defend themselves. It is a fun basic system designed to give them some tools to protect themselves. We also hope to help them develop confidence and a sense of acceptance as well... Our club is a safe place for your kids to meet new friends whilst learning an effective martial art...

17.01.2022 Playing around with 360 video... It is definitely easier to do without the camera in the way but first attacking with front first (no defence) for working out the correct distance... Then attacking to an active defence remembering that this drill has predictability in both attack and defence...

16.01.2022 Just playing around with a go pro max...

11.01.2022 Time to dust off your gis and get ready for training on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings at our club Here are some of the conditions that need to be met in order to comply with training in the COVID era world There will be changes with our training times, policies and procedures to ensure we do our part to help with the control of COVID 19: ... - Only the parents/guardians of Beginners and White Belts with Red stripes will be able to stay in the dojo to watch due a limit of the people per session (Although we would prefer if parent could wait outside) - All parents/guardians staying to watch need to ensure they are fit and well and have washed/sanitised their hands before entry. All students will be required to wash/sanitise their hands before entering the dojo. Sanitiser will be provided by the club - Entry and exit for training is to be done through the external/outside front doors but we ask that people do not gather in the doorways to help control the flow of people in and out - People with a cough, a cold, flu like symptoms or unexplained shortness of breath will not be able to attend - People who have travelled nationally or internationally will have to self isolate for 14 days before being able to attend - People who have been in contact with anyone affect by COVID 19 will have to self isolate for 14 days before being able to attend - Students must bring their own water to drink to ensure they are not using a public water fountain - Due to the 2 metre square rule, students will be required to train in the areas designated by their instructors Seniors will only be able to have one partner for the session There will be some other changes, but the ones outlined above are the main ones, and I sincerely apologise if it all seems a little daunting .... I understand how difficult it can feel with change, and when needing to adapt Here are the new training times: Beginners/juniors Wednesday 6-6:45pm Seniors/intermediates Saturday 10-11:00am Club times to be reviewed mid-August Please dont hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, queries or concerns. I am extremely grateful for the patience, support and understanding you have all displayed during the COVID 19 global pandemic, and am very much looking forward to seeing you all back at training soon

11.01.2022 We need to keep an attendance record as per the Govt requirements for parents and students (over 16yrs) attending our venue... A hard copy register is also available if you prefer...

10.01.2022 Happy New Year to all... I hope everyone has a safe and happy and extremely prosperous 2020!,

09.01.2022 Given the current climate I plan to keep the club open at the subject to advice from the experts, We will be enforcing the following rules, If you are sick please refrain from coming to class... Please ensure you cover your mouth with the inside of your elbow if you sneeze or cough... We are going to make sure that we maintain around a metre clearance from each other including the kids...... I will be insisting that all members wash there hands before and after class (that means everyone!!)... No punching pads or pool noodles either!! Also, we need to make sure that we and the kids know not to touch our faces as well during or after training... I hope that everyone that trains can be mindful of the fact that we are all in this together and we will more than likely get through this unscathed if we are responsible, considerate and look out for each other... Cheers Roy (Head Instructor) Yoseikan Budo
