I think it is very important to fully understand this as it is very pertinent to our training and can be applied to all areas and levels of our lives -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spontaneous response and respect for the natural flow of a situation are the foundation o...f O Senseis teaching. His method of education had two opposite but complementary poles. First was the study of basic technique, learning the movement to a high degree of technical precision until its execution became instinctive. But equally important was the second opposite: spontaneity and flexibility of technique, mind and body, to escape getting caught in the mold of a mechanical precision that is not alive. See more
