13.01.2022 Message from Ricky Hello and Welcome to 50 for 50 Bowls I have chosen Cystic Fibrosis & Autism to raise funds & awareness by travelling around New South Wales t...o play Lawn Bowls at 50 different bowling clubs in 50 days during October & November 2016. Why Cystic Fibrosis and Autism? Both these conditions have affected my family. My youngest brother and wife have 3 children, two boys and 1 one girl, the oldest boy Wilson has Autism and Cullen the second boy lives with Cystic Fibrosis and Autism, while the baby girl Teilyn has Cystic Fibrosis. As you can imagine life for these guys can be very difficult with many hospital visits, special schools and constant medications to cater for their needs. These guys live seven hours away from me and my wife, so we don’t get to see and help as much as we would like to. I have recently taken up Lawn Bowls and it’s got me hooked! This is where the idea of playing at 50 bowling clubs in 50 days has come from. If I can raise some funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis and Autism, it will be my little way of helping family’s with their struggle to have a happy life. Cystic Fibrosis primarily affects the lungs and digestive system and sadly results in a shortened life expectancy. Autism is a lifelong development condition that effects, among other things, the way an individual relates to his or her environment and their interaction with people. As I pass through your little part of the world, call in to your bowling club, enjoy a game of bowls and help with a great cause.
