Others will have done easily 40km as they rode from Blacktown to join Friday ride #cyclingbytheriver. Hot chocolate, friendship and exercise ready for an afternoon of office work!

13.01.2022 Today’s discovery ride introduced road skills for quiet streets and lanes. Most riding was on shared paths, O’Connell st, Argile st and harris park train station to Parramatta. Took an opportunity to use Hassall st cycle lane, allowing riding against one way road. 11.01.2022 The team enabling Parramatta Cycling Without Age had their spirits uplifted today knowing they are that much close making a dream come true after 5 years. Join the celebration!

11.01.2022 Great to be out on the shared paths along Parramatta River. Saturday Discovery rides #cyclingbytheriver explore how to move around Parramatta. Today’s 15km ride started with a challenge with detours around Light Rail construction, once down by the river all the stress in the world was lifted. Looking forward adding the Escarpment Boardwalk to our discussion around creating cycling connected communities. Today’s ride along Parramatta Valley Cycleway crossed the Baludarri Wetlands and Subiaco Creek boardwalk. At the Rydalmere ferry wharf we checked out the separated cycleway and took rest at the picnic shelter before continuing to Halvorsen Park. Great spot for coffee with bike racks and plenty of open space to look out over the river. Would be nice to have a water fil station and toilets at this busy park.

Big brother is more confident with the movement of the bike and mastering power glides. Youngest sibling join the fun today with a balance bike. Love my job!

09.01.2022 I realised today how much I’ve missed teaching others to ride, both children and adults. I have been reminded how long between programs for many of the local communities. This week I have been blessed with the extra help growing the team and supporting Prac students. We do our very best and don’t always get it right. That is experiential learning. Each interaction we learn from and try and do better, Thankyou to everyone, we had 60 interactions today!

Today there was riding on quiet streets, taking your lane, safe distance passing parked cars, signalling and riding a straight line with a head wind. New rider today mastered riding down a steep hill which gave confidence on return to successfully ride under Marsden st bridge at riverside. For beginners this is success
