25.01.2022 Morning students and parents as of tonight at 11:59pm there will be some changes to the Covid-19 restrictions but nothing has changed for driving schools, Vicroads or Learner Drivers. Until the 1.5m distancing law has changed it looks like non of these things will change. Ive put a link below of what changes will be coming into place and that there is now a fifth reason for leaving your house so checkout the link below: ... https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-restrictions-/12228524

20.01.2022 Just announced Melbourne Metropolitan in lockdown again, that means all of Yarra Ranges, Knox and Whitehorse. We are waiting confirmation from VicRoads to see if they will be canceling all non essential tests and if we are able to work under the lockdown. We will keep you updated as we find out more. Our number one priority is the safety of our students and our young family. Regards Rebecca

20.01.2022 Weve had the official okay from CPVV that we can start back to work so we will be back next week but with some short term changes listed below: Prioritising students that had tests already booked that were canceled due to COVID-19. We will be open for online bookings only link at the bottom or on our website. No double lessons.... Open shorter hours Monday to Friday. Only taking lessons with existing students or students with prepaid lessons or existing vouchers. Bookings are only allowed a fortnight at a time. If you are unwell even slightly we ask you to cancel your lesson or if you appear sick your lesson will be canceled. Jarrod and Rebecca are expecting there second child any day now so please note that we may need to cancel a lesson at short notice if Rebecca dose go into labour. VicRoads is still closed for license testing unless you have a exemption or are an essential worker. The Covid-19 virus is still very dangerous so to start we will be open for half days and be sanitising the car between each student and requesting any student with even mild symptoms to cancel their lesson. Attached below is the link to our licensing website: https://cpv.vic.gov.au//coronav/coronavirus-covid-19-faqs2# Link to our booking system: https://yvedrivingschool.gettimely.com/Book/Location/87730

19.01.2022 We will keep you posted but it looks like we will be in self isolation and classified as a non essential worker for quite a while longer. Once VicRoads opens again for tests we will be 100% up and running again! Fingers crossed that it will be sooner rather than later but our number one priority is your safety and health. Regards Rebecca & Jarrod #stayathome

19.01.2022 Please dont risk getting fined, if you are caught its a $1600 fine for each person in the car and if its a driving instructor its a business breach and a fine of $10,000!! DHHS screen shots below in the comment section.

19.01.2022 Congratulations on passing your exemption tests today Jessica! Great drive even though youve not practiced due to lockdown. We wish you all the best on the roads Rebecca and Jarrod

18.01.2022 Morning students currently there are no changes to the laws for driving instructors. Link below for the CPV, they are the people that all driving instructors have their license through and are the ones that also tell us when all driving instructors can return to work. https://cpv.vic.gov.au//corona/coronavirus-covid-19-faqs2... CPV quote from frequently asked questions: Can driving instructors continue to work? If a student is taking driving lessons as part of necessary training associated with their job, such as learning to drive a heavy truck or bus, they can continue to attend those lessons. Other learner drivers may only drive with a parent or other licensed driver in their household for one of the permitted reasons to leave their home. Please keep safe and keep your distance, Rebecca & Jarrod

15.01.2022 This is the current update from VicRoads in regards to undue hardship requests to go for your L-Ps tests with a VicRoads employee in a VicRoads car. All driving instructors are still legally not allowed to take learners out for lessons. Please be mindful that you can only have lessons with a person with a FULL LICENSE THAT YOU LIVE WITH AND ONLY ESSENTIAL TRIPS (shopping, appointments, educational or work) the $1600 is a huge chunk of your savings that could be put towards... your first car so please be careful. If you were ready to take your test and you pass the requirements for undue hardship tests with VicRoads its worth applying. These are the reasons/requirements to apply and the link to the paperwork to apply below. What is undue hardship? You may be considered to experience undue hardship if any of the following apply: *You are the main or sole provider for the family and having a current learner permit or driver licence would support your ability to maintain employment and/or financial requirements and commitments; or youre a new job-seeker, and this would assist in your ability to enter employment *Youre the carer for another person/family member and require a current learner permit or driver licence to accompany the family member to appointments. Note: for a learner, the family member must hold the appropriate current licence type required to be a supervising driver. *You require a current driver licence to take your spouse or children or sibling/s to and from work or education - if necessary. *You require a current learner permit or driver licence because taking public transport or a taxi would pose a risk to you due to a medical condition making you vulnerable to contracting coronavirus (e.g. respirator conditions, asthma, cardiovascular or mobility conditions. *You or your dependant is an affected family member in a family violence situation and having a current learner permit or driver licence would assist you to seek appropriate refuge and support. *Testing for persons critical to the coronavirus response will also be considered on a case by case basis. Please remember we have no control over what VicRoads decides or dose when you apply for a hardship lesson and we are also unable to take you for a lesson.

15.01.2022 *NEWS UPDATE* VicRoads to reopen for tests from the 15/6/20 but with 55,000 tests on backlog and essential workers still waiting till the second week of July it might be a while longer till they have available dates. Fingers crossed that our students that have been waiting since March will have a date shortly. Please let us know as soon as you have a test date.

11.01.2022 All Learners please dont risk getting a fine of $1600 by going for a drive with someone in your house or another instructor. If they tell you its okay to do it they dont have your best interest in mind. The rules are as listed below, people will try look for a grey area but its black and white. Screen shot in comments.... 09.01.2022 YVE DRIVING SCHOOL [edited 10/7 2:30pm] *Temporarily closed due to Stage 3 restrictions except for students with a hardship test* Due to Melbourne Metropolitan going into stage 3 restrictions we will be canceling all lessons and tests. Our number one priority is the safety of our students and our young family. ... Quote from CPVV: If a student lives in Metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire, they can take lessons with a professional driving instructor if it is part of necessary training associated with their job. Other learner drivers may only undertake driving practice, with a parent or other licensed driver in their household for one of the permitted reasons to leave home. Travel must be within Metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell shire, depending on where the student lives. We feel the risk of not being able to social distance and having such close contact for long periods with a hundred plus students a month is not a risk we are willing to take even if other instructors are. VicRoads is only doing tests for exempt drivers and once you have a confirmation email for this we can do practice lessons and the test with you. Please text me with your details of the test and proof of confirmation and Ill book you in on our system: 0400 960 290 Please follow this page for updates for when we can reopen and get you back on the roads. 08.01.2022 *UPDATED 3/8* 9pm* Still waiting for a confirmation on if we can continue to work and Ive put in the comments the screen shots from our licensing company and VicRoads as of 9pm 3/8. We still have no clarification on what category driving instructors are and if VicRoads will stay open. ... Hopefully we will have this information by Wednesday evening and we will keep you posted. All lessons will stay booked unless you let us know that you wish to postpone them to a later date. Please keep safe and healthy.

07.01.2022 Everyone who comes to work, whether it be firey, ambo, police, we want to go home at the end of the day, and we dont want something which would be a minor acc...ident at 40km/h to be a catastrophe at 80km/h, 90km/h or 100km/h. For emergency services workers, the roadside is part of the office. Thats why were asking everyone to think about their safety and slow to 40km/h when passing emergency services vehicles.

07.01.2022 Remember to keep your car clean #staysafe

05.01.2022 If youre feeling overwhelmed with the thought of going back into lockdown or upset over your test being canceled again or for the first time remember your not alone. Please stay safe and we will see you again on the other side of the lockdown.

04.01.2022 We are updating you on the current situation with VicRoads. Please contact us as soon as VicRoads has canceled your test and I will then delete it off our system. Thank you for all being so great about the bad news and that in the near further youll be on the road and have your freedom!

02.01.2022 In these times of uncertainty we have tried our best to keep you all safe and keep providing a service that gives you some freedom and reliability during these hard times. Unfortunately without being given a direct answer in regards to social distancing and Rebecca being heavily pregnant we have made the call to close affective immediately and are hoping to reopen once school goes back on the 14/4 or if VicRoads opens beforehand. For now I will cancel all lesson till the 13/...4 and if advised by the government at that time we may need to stay closed for longer but we will keep you updated along the way. If you have prepaid lessons not including packages we can refund you if you like or leave it as a credit on your account. Ill just need your bank details and Ill be able to refund you the amount if thats what you wish to do. Remember to practice when you can, be safe and stay healthy. If you need us we are here for you and please dont hesitate to contact us once Vicroads reopens and gives you a new test time. We will keep you up to date as circumstances unfold. 02.01.2022 *COVID 19 UPDATE* Weve had a lot of gossip going around this afternoon in regards to students being able to start lessons again but on none of the Government Websites or the CPVV does not specifically state if the lesson is with a instructor or a fully licensed person from the same address. The guidelines have not changed in regards to a learner being able to drive for only essential travel and still states that carrying passagers in the car is strongly discouraged. ... We have also called VicRoads, RACV, DHHS and CPVV and none have had legal confirmation that driving instructors can return to giving lessons. Please dont risk being fined by having a lesson with someone outside of your household. We will keep you posted as things progress. Below from the DHHS link to the website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-stay-home-direction Stay safe and keep your distance

01.01.2022 YVE Driving School will be reopening as of Thursday 16/7 to all students not just students with a exemption test. We apologise for the constant changes to our work policies but we can only go off what the government and our union allows us to do. YVE is currently only taking bookings online and we ask if you are feeling unwell cancel your lesson as soon as possible to keep our other students and our family safe.
